And the black squatters want to know why their white counterparts got their houses within six months whereas they have been waiting for their houses for years. The Bethlehem squatters did not have to apply for the houses at the local housing office - their application forms were brought to them, and later collected, by Gauteng housing officials. "Zuma must come here. He must see for himself the conditions we are living in and then tell us how come we have been on the housing waiting list for over 11 years when some people can get their houses within months," Sheila Moyo said. Unemployed Moyo, 50, has been squatting with about 200 others at the informal settlement about 5km from Bethlehem for the past seven years. She and others moved to the area in June 2008 after their shacks were destroyed by fire. Zuma visited the Bethlehem community in July 2008 and in March 2010, when he promised to help resolve the squatters' plight. Bethlehem spokesman Leoné Hine said the Gauteng housing department officials delivered the application forms in January . "We all completed the forms ... then called them to come and collect them. They came back after two weeks to sort out missing documents. Then they came back and said you are going to be allocated houses within a month," she said. The families started moving into the new two-bedroom houses in May.Their neighbours in the Atteridgeville informal settlements have been on the waiting list for years. Simon Pitie, 64, applied for his house in 2000 butreceived his keys in the same month as the Bethlehem squatters, who had applied only in January. Deputy chief of Solidarity Helping Hand Christine Breet accused Zuma of trying to win votes for next year's general election. Volksblad verneem die polisie het eergisteraand op sy bankkaarte by ’n woonstel in Parkweg afgekom toe hulle op inligting gereageer het. Die beamptes het ’n bloedspoor by die woonstel-kompleks gevolg tot voor ’n woonstel waar hulle op die kaarte afgekom het. Die aanvallers was egter nie daar nie. Dit is nie seker of hulle in die kompleks woon nie. Kirk-Spriggs is eers gister hospitaal toe waar hy behandeling ontvang het en later ontslaan is. Hy wou nie met die koerant praat nie. July 18 2013 Raytheon - Gideon 'Giepie' Niemand, 19, got so fed-up when a black guy hijacked his dad's blue Nissan bakkie that he jumped on its back while it drove away at high speed from Rayton. He was so desperate to save their bakkie because the Niemand family generates all their income with the vehicle in building-jobs and haulage. Gideon kept bashing the hijacker through the window until the thug ran it into a concrete wall. Giepie has sustained serious brain damage. His mom said: "I will never get my son back again'. Who killed Bossie Barnard in Rustenburg? ------ Platinum News: " Rustenburg – On Wednesday morning (17 June 2013) Bossie Barnard died at the age of 42. Bossie’s ordeal started when he was shot in his leg earlier this week during an ATM bombing. In the early hours Tuesday morning (just after 3am) Mr Barnard went down to his local petrol station, the Engen garage in Ridder Street, to buy some snacks (a cold drink, maybe a sweet, maybe just go for a drive). He wasn’t gone for 10 minutes when his employer, Chantél, received a most dreadful call. He simply said; “They shot me,” and added; “I’m on my way!” Minutes later Bossie arrived at her home, with two bullet holes in the side of his white Isuzu Double Cab. He had been shot in the leg. Chantél immediately reacted and applied pressure to the gushing wound until Netcare 911 paramedics arrived. They transported him and his colleague (Lucky), to the Job Shimankana Tabane Hospital. There Barnard told his story; he had gone to the quick shop to buy himself a cold drink when a White BMW suddenly came to a standstill in front of him. He overtook the BMW on its left hand side when he heard the shots going off. Later that morning when Chantél visited Barnard in hospital she found that he was not yet admitted to a ward. She was told that; “no operation is needed” as the bullet splintered. Later that day Chantél tried to visit Barnard again but was refused entrance. She was informed that she must adhere strictly with visiting hours. He had been placed in ward 10. Events leading up to the death of Barnard as portrayed by Chantél: At around 7 ‘o clock the next morning Chantél received another call from Barnard. “They told me I’m being discharged, will you come and pick me up?” Upon arrival Chantél noticed Barnard’s leg was extremely swollen and he was in severe pain. He was discharged with supplies to dress the wound at home and a packet of Panado’s. He was also given a walker (loopring) but could hardly move one foot in front of the other. “He was white around his mouth and persperated severely,” she recalled. She asked for a wheelchair and was told that she could “go and fetch one at the casualty unit,” which she did, while he waited. After she did get hold of a wheelchair one of the visitors at the hospital was kind enough to help her with getting Barnard to and into her car. As he got into the car he told Chantél that he was not feeling well at all. “I am nauseous,” he told Chantél and when she asked if he is OK, he just shook his head.He almost immediately started gasping for air. Chantél closed the door of the vehicle and drove him back to the entrance at the emergency ward, just a few metres away. She immediately ran inside and pleaded with a nursing staff member to help Barnard. “He must come inside,” the lady said. “I told her he could not, he was busy dying,” Chantél told the Platinum Weekly. “She just kept on talking on the phone. I yelled, hoping that one of the other staff members at the unit would help me, but they hardly looked at me. I immediately phoned Lucky to come and help me at the hospital. He immediately rushed over to the hospital. I ran back to Barnard and noticed that he had trouble breathing. His tongue was turning white. I ran back in and again pleaded with the nursing staff to help my dying friend. Again a Good Samaritan, I am not sure if he was a patient himself or if he was waiting for a patient, got up and offered his help. The guy next to him also offered to help. They went with me to the car and helped to get Barnard (a big man) out of the car. Eventually the nursing staff member and a security guard also joined us. She stood there looking at Barnard. Help him! I yelled. ‘I am helping’ she said. ‘You are not, you are just standing there’, I responded. She then told the men (who by then loaded Barnard onto a stretcher) to put him on a bed. The security guard helped the good Samaritans and they pushed Barnard to the Resuscitation area. At that moment Lucky joined me. ------------------------ The curtains were closed behind Barnard. It was the last time I saw him alive,” a visibly traumatised Chantél told the Platinum Weekly. A spokesperson for the Job Shimankana Tabane Hospital revealed the following: “In the ward he was reviewed again by a team of doctors and nurses, again findings were that he did not incur any vascular injury. When he was found to be having no bone or vascular injury, and his vital signs were within normal range he was discharged on 17/07/2013 with supplies to dress the wound at home.” According to police investigations, five African males in a white BMW 7-series were involved in this ATM bombing. It has been a very long time since a civilian was shot during an ATM blast. It seems that ATM bombers are upping their game, to a whole new level of violence. White SA couple falsely arrested for 'urinating in public' - July 20 2013 - ALBERTON. Andre Snyman owner of Eblockwatch writes that 'a member's son and his girlfriend illegally arrested by Alberton SAPS 'for urinating in public'. The video shows that 'the cop was weeing on the wall...' Andre Snyman also reports that 'the video footage shows that this was not the case.' He adds: " The two video clips indicate that there also were justifiable resistance to being arrested (by the couple). "Lukas writes" "The claim of urinating in public was never a charge on the charge sheet. Secondly the police officer who said she had proof of the incident, produces a wet spot on a smooth yellow wall. "The wall in the back of the video is a Tuscany greenish wall. It made us wonder what the motive was and why the police would allow someone to do his business and then arrive to arrest him. "Secondly. a round wet spot on a wall? If the person urinated against it the pattern should be different.. This seemed to be fabricated evidence. "Interestingly, the charge of urinating in public was only mentioned on the video, never again in any charge sheet (by the arresting police).Lukas, the father, writes: "We have the interesting scenario that someone is arrested for resisting arrest on a charge that was never brought up? "Does this mean that police officers may arrest people at will and then if you reasonably resist, get arrested because you resist the arrest?"I did not hear one word of abuse on the video. The charge is crimea injuria?"My daughter was arrested for taking the video under the auspices she was "interfering in police work." Somebody needs to police the police. "If they did everything right, why arrest her for interfering by filming the "arrest"? If they (the police) were doing everything perfect, the video should show that. "This episode cost me 22 hours of my time and the legal fees. Is this fair given the competency levels observed? Andre Snyman of eblockwatch writes: "While we wait google Drop box. With so many hundreds of thousands of Afrikaners made homeless and without any source of income because of the Black Economic Empowerment Act barring them from the SA job market, a battle to get them housed in government housing - and to get them government benefits - has also raged behind the scene for the past twenty years as their impoverishment has grown. The matter came to a head on July 19 2013 after an inaccurate report in The Times, claiming that '110 government houses were handed over to white Afrikaner squatters in Elandspoort, Pretoria North' by President Zuma'. This caused immediately and widespread anger in the black squatter community especially because the report claimed that the whites had been given preferential treatment, that their applications had been 'fast-tracked'. The report was inaccurate and the Zuma government spokesman hastened to correct the report the next day -- to prevent violence against poor whites in the region. On July 16 2013 the small group of Afrikaner children in Grade Ten of the Afrikaans-language Alexander Bay High School in Northern Namaqualand -- in the tiny diamond-mining town of Alexander Bay (population 1,492 in 2001)were targeted with hate speech in front of the entire classroom by a black male official who was visiting and inspecting the school on behalf of the Education Department. The town of Oranjemund opposite: on the northern bank of the river, which forms the international border with Namibia. The two towns are linked by the Harry Oppenheimer Bridge. The town is served by Alexander Bay Airport. After diamonds were discovered along this coast in 1925 by Dr Hans Merensky, Alexander Bay became known for its mining activities. The resulting 'diamond rush' even led to the "Diamond Coast rebellion of 1928". -- Copper ore was shipped through the Richtersveld in barges down the Orange River for export from this bay. The town was a high security area and permits were needed when entered. It is no longer a high security area and no permits are needed.Alexander Bay is the most northerly situated town along the west coastline of South Africa.
