Keimoes, population 12,000 is a town in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. It lies above, inside and underneath the Orange River and is about halfway between Upington and Kakamas.
43 km south-west of Upington and 76 km north of Kenhardt. It attained municipal status in 1949. The name is of Khoekhoen (KhoiSan) origin and means "large eye", i.e. spring or fountain.
