Sept 12 2013: It was reported today that Piet Els of the Bietjie Bos Farm guest house, who was attacked on September 9 2013, is 'not doing too well' in the intensive care unit where he was rushed after the attack by a large group of black men who arrived in a black car with tinted windows and no license plates. His wife Elsie reportedly was 'kicked and beaten black and blue' and is still badly traumatised,' writes community-safety coordinator Naomi Kleinschmidt Pasino of the Staan Saam Rustenburg network.
She wrote - "As far as Piet Els is concerned he is still under observation (in ICU) but sounds as if it is not going well with him. Martie Els was kicked and beaten black and blue and she is badly traumatised. (Note: it was confirmed by the SAPS Rustenburg that the black male gang fled with R36,000 in cash and firearms from the rural guest house: they knew exactly when to attack (when the farmer had not yet taken his takings to the bank) and it was well-planned. The gang arrived in a black car with tinted windows, no license plates." This was confirmed by Kleinschmidt-Pasino, who wrote: "They (the gang) knew exactly what escape route to take. This was carefully planned over a period of time'.
