STANDERTON -A family was sitting in their front yard when they noticed a silver bakkie driving up and down the street.
The driver turned around, once again, and went into the driveway of the flats situated at the back of the house.
According to the family the driver stopped and looked around when he came out.
"Go ask the man, he looks lost, maybe you can help him", the woman said to her husband, Mr Helio Dos Santos.
According to Mr Dos Santos, he stood up and as he turned around the driver of the vehicle was behind him.
"Can I help you?" Mr Dos Santos asked the unknown man. He apparently replied that he is looking for the woman that is inside the house.
Mr Dos Santos told the man that there is no woman in the house, since only his wife and children are home.
The man demanded to go into the house. According to Mr Dos Santos the man tried to shove him aside to get access to the house.
Mr Dos Santos tried to stop the man. Ms Dos Santos was hysterical meantime, thinking he was there to cause trouble. Mr Dos Santos looked at his wife and the unknown man began to assault him.
"He had something very hard and solid in his hand," Mr Dos Santos said. After the attack , the assailant stood up, went into the house, walked around, came out, snapped at Ms Dos Santos as to where his sunglasses are and asked her what she is looking at.
He got into his bakkie and drove off. Mr Dos Santos was badly hurt in the face and his wife took him to a doctor for immediate treatment.
