The slightly injured man would appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Monday on a murder charge, Mogale said. The sedan driver and 39-year-old biker Douglas Pierce allegedly had an argument while both were driving on Malibongwe Drive just after Witkoppen Road, North Riding - earlier on Friday, said Mogale. They both pulled off the road, the biker -- who works as a body guard -- and the driver got into a heated argument. By the time everything was over, the 43-year-old white motorcyclist -- (*identified as 39-year-old Douglas Pierce, father of a four-year-old and a security guard) -- lay dead with two gunshot wounds while the injured motorist was under police guard at hospital. He was shot once. Netcare 911 spokeswoman Santi Steinmann said the motorist was “in a serious condition” but the motorcyclist had already died by the time the paramedics arrived at the scene. The gunfight took place on the corner of Boundary Road and Malibongwe Drive in Northriding, Randburg. At about 10am, the 39-year-old biker’s mother sobbed in the back of a car at the intersection, three hours after he was shot. Lying between a black and orange motorbike and a white sedan was the body of her son, still wearing his helmet. The woman was too distraught to talk -- but her son’s neighbour said the man worked as a bodyguard and was a member of a motorcycle club. He lived with his wife and 4-year-old daughter in Randpark Ridge. Joburg metro police spokeswoman Edna Mamonyane said the shooting occurred between 6.50 and 7.10 on Friday morning. What led to the two men pulling out their pistols and shooting each other was not yet known. “They both had guns. We don’t know what the reason for their altercation was,” she said.Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Katlego Mogale said it was believed that the fight had started way before the intersection. Mogale said the 43-year-old motorist was under police guard at an undisclosed hospital where he was being treated for his injuries as he was a suspect in murder. The incident severely affected rush-hour traffic. botho.molosankwe@inl.co.za and kristen.vanschie@inl.co.za The Star http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-courts/road-rage-gunfight-turns-fatal-1.1647373#.Uv7WFs5fTHw
