Nelspruit: July 13 2013 "Black man climbing through our window at 04h30 very quickly. My wife (*Carien) kept her cool: grabbed the phone and contacted everybody as she ran; fortunately
within minutes there's Bossie of HiTech, the SAPS and Neighbourhood Watch showing up while I was still grappling with the black man. He was dragged back out through the window and we had a bit of fun with him.
My fist is a bit sore. The SAPS took him away. The score Boy Vs Me: 0 -1. Thank you Lord for protecting us: things could have been a lot worse.
Thanks to Bossie and Neighbourhoodwatch for their speedy response. Thanks to the SAPS taking statements: (will you believe it one explained in a friendly tone that they cannot open a case against me because it was
clearly self-defence. Seems that the guy got a bit of a hurt. Hope everybody has a better day today than the one we started out with.

The murder of farmer Roelof du Plessis:
The horror started just before midnight on Wednesday this week.
After listening to the latest television news about the health of Nelson Mandela, a South African family living not far from the former President’s hospital unit turned in for the night.
But Roelof and Laura du Plessis, a married couple with four children who live on a heavily fortified farm outside Pretoria, did not have a peaceful night’s rest.
In fact they were about to become the latest victims of what white pressure groups in this troubled nation say is nothing less than a savage war against them.
Hearing noises outside their home, Mr du Plessis, 46, got out of bed and ran outside.
To his horror, he found his 19-year-old son being held with a gun to his head by a gang of five armed black attackers.
Father and son were ordered to lie on the ground. The invaders did not ask for money or the keys to the expensive vehicles in the drive. They were there only to terrorise and kill.
Hearing voices outside, Laura, 44, came out of her bedroom to investigate — and her torch illuminated an awful scene as the gang pointed guns at her husband.
Her son managed to get up and sprint off into the darkness when the men were confused by the flashlight. But Du Plessis was not so lucky.
The intruders opened fire at once, shooting him six times through the throat, lungs and abdomen.
As he writhed on the ground in agony, the men ran off into the night leaving empty bullet cartridges littering the yard.
In the darkness, Laura attempted heart massage on her husband, who could still talk despite his appalling injuries, but to no avail.
When I arrived at the farm on Thursday and was invited in by Mrs du Plessis, I found her with blood still caked under her fingernails after she’d cradled her dying husband.
‘He was shot through the lungs and I was doing CPR,’ she told me, between huge sobs. ‘He said “please go and fetch the car and take me to hospital”. But he was too badly hurt and he died in my arms.’
In the morning, when white friends from neighbouring farms followed the trail of the raiders, they discovered the men had carefully cut through fences and skirted areas with security patrols — suggesting how closely they had planned their route of attack.
‘It is definitely coming down to a race thing,’ Laura du Plessis told me as she was comforted by her family. ‘They hate white people. We have never had a fight with any black people. I always stop and give others a lift. We employ black people.
‘My husband fought for me. I am grateful that he wasn’t tied up and forced to watch me being raped before he was killed. He was an amazing man. He was my life.’

June 28 2013 - BEELD. ‘I cannot wash my hands. I cannot. It is my husband's blood,' wept widow Laura du Plessis 45 after her husband Roedolf, owner of Rubicon XrayServiceRepair company. Her husband was shot repeatedly in the upper body while fighting with five armed black men who had invaded their homestead - and he died in her arms. She told Beeld newspaper that she could 'do everything: diving, ride quad bike, fly airplanes. But she could not help her husband. After the men - described as 'robbers' by Beeld newspaper, had fled without taking anything, she tried to apply CPR but failed.
Their ordeal started when son Riaan was awakened around 23h00 by five men who broke into their homestead and went straight to the youth's bedroom. The teenager was assaulted and dragged to the living room, where he was being brutally assaulted when dad Roelof stormed from the master-bedroom - and ran into the gang who were beating up their youngest son, said Laura. "I also grabbed a flashlight and stormed from the room, with one of the five attackers rushing towards me. When Roelof saw this he grappled with the gunmen to protect me. That's when they started shooting. Amidst this Riaan managed to flee to the neighbours to seek help.Laura locked herself into the ensuite bathroom of their bedroom and phoned for help. The men fled without stealing anything."When they were gone my husband called to me and I tried to stop the bleeding by applying CPR but could not. I couldn't do anything.' She fetched the car - and Roelof even still tried to get up to get in but couldn't. He was shot up badly: with bullets having been fired into the neck and upper body. He died in her arms.
Laura said the attackers robbed nothing from her house except the life of her husband.
Roelof owned the Rubicon X-ray-services Repair company and also an enthusiastic pilot. Three aircraft are parked in at the smallholding, writes Beeld.
"So now I am also one of them (crime victims). We never thought it could ever happen to us,' she said. I cannot hate except the way in which my husband's life was taken from me. I wanted to get old with him'.
Roelof leaves four children, Riaan 19, Daniel 21, Juliet 26, Francois 24 and two grandchildren.

Lizelle le Roux, murdered on farm Sunnyside, Molteno. Knifed to death
Ms Elizabeth Helena "Lizelle" le Roux, a single woman in her early forties, was found knifed to death early Monday-morning on the farm Sunnyside, Molteno East Cape July 15 2013. She had gone for a walk on the farm as she always did on Sundays but when she failed to return at sunsight a hunting party was raised to search for her, said SAPS captain Roelofse of the East Cape provincial SAPS. He was quoted in 'Maroela Media. "By 13h00 her parents and neighbours had not found her yet. Her body was found early the next morning by police officials.' Ms Le Roux was 'attacked with a sharp object and incurred several knife wounds.'Noone was arrested.

Maandag 15 Julie 2013 Shoot the Fucking Dogs dead, shouted a black gunman at his two comrades while they were attacking an Afrikaner family inside their home in Petrusburg.
Before they broke in they had also poisoned the two family dogs - Boerboels.
All three were armed with guns and they woke up 57-year-old At Stander at 3am by holding a gunbarrel to his forehead.
They had broken into his house. When Stander felt the gun barrel against his head he turned on the light and looked into their faces.
One man stood at the end of the bed, the other two on the sides with the Stander couple in it.
They wore balaclavas. The men tied up Stander and his wife Adri 53 and his mom Ina 87.
They used shoelaces, electrical cords and a rope from Adri's morning-coat to tie them up: and Mr Stander's hands also were tied to the bedpost.
"It was horrible to hear that man saying over and over again, shoot the fucking dogs dead. He even said it as they walked out of the door.
I speak Sotho fluently and told them in their language that they could take anything they wanted to. It's a mirace we are alive'.
The two women were badly traumatised and are weeping constantly, they will need trauma counselling, he said.
The Afrikaner businessman said three black men must have known he had money and guns in his safe.
"I was going to go and deposit the cash and buy new supplies the next day. They knew I owned a shop because they said "If you call the police we will come and kill you later in your shop'\.
SAPs sergeant Thabo Litabe confirmed that 'a charge of house robbery is being investigated'.

The three accused black males face charges of "murder and assault .
"The case was transferred to the Protea Magistrates' Court in Soweto because 'the father was a retired police officer...'
Nantes Kelder, Head of Community Safety at AfriForum said this alleged reason for the transfer to the Soweto court 'raised concerns'. This followed a conversation by Danie Nortjé, investigative officer in the case two years ago, in which he told Kelder "they are afraid that Henry Gebhardt, the father of the deceased, may have an influence on the court proceedings in the Westonaria regional court."
Gebhardt sr was a police officer for years. Kelder: "The fact that Nortjé said that is a slap in the face of the independent judiciary, means he is drawing into question the integrity of the magistrate and other staff members of the Westonaria court," Kelder said.
"AfriForum will continuously monitor the court case to ensure that everything runs smoothly," Kelder added.

Louwrens Gebhardt, 18, the captain of the Westonaria High School first rugby team, was declared braindead on Nov 6 2010 and died from a massive brain haemorrhage from a blow with a baseball-bat by an adult male who allegedly intervened during a socalled 'fracas between with another pupil a day earlier, on Nov 4 2010.

Beeld journalist Amanda Roestoff write that Lourtens Gebhardt died at 11am on Nov 6 in Krugersdorp private hospital when his life-support machines were turned off after he was declared legally brain dead. His entire team was there to say farewell to the young Afrikaner.
She wrote: "Gebhardt was beaten into a coma on Thursday Nov 4 2010 at around 13:30 while he tried to stop an adult man from attacking a school-friend just outside the school-terrain of his high school with a baseball-bat. The fight was a continuation of a fracas between two pupils the day before – and an adult man ‘who was closely related to one of the pupils’ had tried to hit the other pupil in revenge", writes Beeld. "When Louwrens tried to stop the man, he was bashed with a baseball bat over the head and received brain injuries which led to his death. "Bystanders said the man had stood outside the school gates, waiting for the white pupil, armed with a baseball bat."
Louwrens’ uncle Cobus Gebhardt said at the time that his nephew had not been involved at all in the previous day’s fight -- but went across the road to try and help. “Pupils who witnessed the attack alerted the teachers – who in turn contacted his parents, who rushed Lourens to a general practitioner. He was still conscious when he was at the doctor’s practice but while he was taken to hospital in the ambulance he lost consciousness.’ Tests revealed that he suffered severe bleeding of the brain.
“He was a sparkling young man. His death leaves an empty space in all our hearts.”
The family denies claims by onlookers and surrounding residents of the school that ‘racial tensions’ were linked to the murderous assault on the Afrikaner youth.
Headmaster Benard Fischer also said ‘there is no racial tension at the school. The incident was caused by children harassing each other’.
The initial investigating officer in the case was SAPS constable Lienkie Lefakane.

The three black male adults who are accused of stabbing to death 18-year-old captain of the Westonaria High School team Louwrens Gebhardt, 18, was transferred from the Westonaria Regional Court, to the Magistrate’s court in Protea Soweto – purportedly because the investigating police feared that the murdered young man’s father -- a retired police officer -- ‘could influence the court proceedings in Westonaria. The three suspects handed themselves in to police in March and April. The 22-year-old Mdingi's bail application was refused as he was considered a flight risk. The three accused face charges of murder and assault. Nantes Kelder, Head of Community Safety at AfriForum said the possible reasons for this decision "raises concern".

Murders of whites hidden with false 'natural death' certificates: Henry Locke, shot through the heart April 5 2009; and Roy Munk, stabbed to death, Hoedspruit
In 2011, two cases came to light where local authorities had hidden the murders of two rural Afrikaners behind false death certificates.
1. Henry Locke, a low-income working class Afrikaner smallholder, was murdered with a shot through his heart by black killers on April 5 2009. This was witnessed by thirteen-year-old daughter Monique Locke, his wife and his paraplegic son.
When the family received the death cerficate, it stated 'natural cause". The shocked family told the Beeld daily Afrikaans newspaper that the 39-year-old electrician was shot dead on April 5 2009 with a bullet through his heart on the Elands wildlife farm by a black gang -- right in front of his wife, his daughter Monique, 13 and disabled son Dawie, 23.
The official explanation of why the 'natural cause' was entered on the death certificate was that 'he had a heart-attack when the bullet was fired through his heart”.
The shocked family demanded an explanation: 'he was shot dead right in front of our eyes. The klillers said nothing at all: they just shot him dead for no reason although we pleaded with him not to shoot him..'
The family’s only wage-earner was pleaded with by his then-13-year-old daughter and her paraplegic brother Dawie, 23, – who prayed and pleaded with their father's killers to 'not take away my mother and sister too'..
The story was originally reported on October 6 2009 by Virginia Keppler of Beeld newspaper, who reported that the murder occurred after mother Amanda, 43, had stepped outside just before the family was going to bed at 11pm to check why the dogs were barking so loudly.
The ANC officials claimed they would l ‘investigate the erroneous death certificate.’ Nothing has been heard since. However the SAPS statistics were not adjusted.

2. Roy Munk, a Hoedspruit farmer, was stabbed to death on his farm. The authorities issued an inaccurate finding of "accidental death by buffalo attack" because his body was dumped in a large encampment with buffalo and the animals were driven across his body.
The authorities were forced to issue a new death-certificate for the death on July 1 2008 of the 65-year-old wildlife farmer and East Rand businessman Roy Munks, (news clipping from Rapport newspaper left,) who was found dead in a kraal on his Hoedspruit farm. Police initially reported this as an ‘accidential death due to a buffalo attack’, but forensic examinations revealed that he had been stabbed to death. Rapport newspaper quoted police as blaming the farmer for his ownn death, stating he’d kept his wildlife herd in camps which were too small for them. However, a second court-hearing subsequently ruled that the initial ruling by the local inquest court that Munks had been killed by a buffalo on his Hoedspruit farm was totally inaccurate. A few weeks after this ruling, two armed attackers were arrested while breaking into a nearby house – and ‘spoke out of turn” during questioning by police’ admitting to Munks’ violent death. They were charged with his murder. The forensic traces of the stabbing were not ddiscovered by a post-mortem examination of the farmer’s body because the wild-life herd was driven across his body after the murder.

15 July 2013 Thelma Koorts Mrs Bets Braack, 73, was attacked on Monday at noon inside her kitchen at Brenthurst by a knifeman while her husband had left the house to have their car repaired.
She was saved by the arrival of her son-in-law Sias and wife Hanlie - who stopped at the house, blew the horn as they always did, and then drove off again, thinking the parents were not at home.
The black knifeman who threatened her with a knife got spooked and ran away. Sias said his mother-in-law was accosted by the man while she was baking - and had just gone to the dining room to get an egg-beater when she heard rattling in the kitchen.
"She thought some pans had fallen down, but when she returned to the kitchen the man was inside the kitchen: he had climbed through the windows.
He threatened her at knifepoint and forced her into the bedroom, demanding 'jewellery, money and guns'.
Meanwhile we were in the vicinity and decided to stop by to have a quick cup of tea at our parent's home.
When we got no reaction to our blowing the horn we phoned the house-phone but got no reply, so we drove off again.'
When the knifeman heard the horn he ordered Bets to lie on her stomach on the bed, tied her hands with shoe laces - meanwhile Bets was telling him those were her children outside, waiting to come in, and that they had a key to the house.'
It's when the phone rang that he panicked and ran.
Sias noticed the man in the garden but believed it may have been a gardener. "He was acting strangely but we only realised it later. We went to buy some milk at a shop nearby with the intention of going back to the house, when Bets phoned Sias and raised the alarm.
The man had taken her cellphone and some jewellery trinkets and placed it in a blue bag. Ted arrived shortly thereafter too - in time to console his shocked wife.
Arrangements were made for her to be visited by a chaplain.

When she refused, he allegedly started harassing her. He sent her an SMS in January when the school reopened saying her services were no longer needed. The ordeal left Nel, 27, so traumatised she went into labour early, she said.

In May, the Education Labour Relations Council ordered the department to compensate her with three months' salary, because she was dismissed for failing to heed the principal's demands. Nel, who has a degree in chemical biology, was one of 10 temporary teachers at the school.
She said its governing body had recommended that all 10 stay on in their posts this year. But, after the incident with the principal, he failed to send the recommendation to the department, Nel said.
Solidarity's Johan Kruger said: ''Should the department again fail to respond, Solidarity will obtain a warrant of execution and attach the department's assets.''

July 12 2013 - Krugersdorp -- Isabella and Christo Smith have had enough after the sixth breakin in their fortified home this year. They fear for their children's lives each day; their dogs have been poisoned, and the black breakin-gangs are so arrogant they clearly are ruling the streets of their West Village suburb.
Earlier, another resident in their street Chantelle Joubert, interviewed by NUUS Afrikaans daily, also said she believed 'illegal miners' were methodically breaking into their homes and looting them.
The Smith couple -- together with many other residents in the West Village suburb of Krugersdorp - are being targeted on broad daylight by organised criminal gangs which poison their dogs, tear down their security gates and break in daylight without any apparent fear of being caught.
"We feel as if we are living in a prison,' they told the Afrikaans NUUS publication.
The heartbroken mining-couple said they are putting their home on the market and moving out lock stock and barrel -- from the place they have called home for the past twelve years.
"We cannot go on like this, we fear for our lives and for our children's lives", said Isabella - after yet another attempted daylight breakin on 5 July 2013 by four arrogant black males.
"They break right through the walls around our yard to get inside. And while I was inside the house, they bashed in the kitchen window and broke apart the front door - which had just been replaced after a previous breakin', she said.
She saw four black males breaking into their home, ran to fetch their (legally registered) firearm, and fired four warning shots, also pushing the emergency alarm: "And as they ran away, one of those guys had the arrogance to gesture to me that 'he'd be back'..." she said.
Christo Smith says they are being looted methodically: thus far the gangs have carried off six tv-sets, three fridges, all the clothes belonging to the children, a deepfreeze, food and money.'
"I have soldered-in heavy burglar bars in front of all the windows and doors, and even bricked up the kitchen's backdoor so that they couldn't get inside. Now I feel as if I am living in a prison'.
"Five of our dogs have already been poisoned. A person cannot want to live like this. I work at the Westonaria mine in the daytime and don't want to even imagine what could happen to my family when I'm not at home'.
In their street alone, there's 'an easy three to four weekly break-ins,' NUUS reported.
This was confirmed in a previous interview with one of the street's residents Chantelle Joubert - who told NUUS that she believed they were being targetted by 'illegal miners who are breaking into the houses during the daytime."
The Smith couple said they have filed a formal charge at the Krugersdorp SAPS.

Daarna is die twee na ’n bosagtige gebied oorkant die erf geneem waar die booswigte hul hande en voete vasgebind het.
Toe hulle Rudolph om vuurwapens vra, het hy gesê hy het nie. Die verdagtes het daarop gesê hy het meer as ’n jaar gelede ’n waarskuwingskoot geskiet toe hulle daar wou toeslaan.
Die mans het Rudolph en Rual terug na hul huis geneem waar Alta, Colin en Colin se vrou, Jennifer, en baba was.
Toe Rudolph en die mans by die ingang van die huis kom, het hy sy hande losgekry en die mans buitentoe gestoot.
Die mans het toe op hom en Colin, wat in die huis was, geskiet. Niemand is nog vasgetrek nie.

SA National Defence Force's military police (NOT SAPS) raid private civilian security firm in Midrand
SANDF military police (NOT South African police) have pounced on the SBC private security firm in Midrand, and claiming after their raid that they found 'stolen military ammo'. (note: It is not known whether under the Constitution, it is actually allowed for the SA military police to raid any civilian premises.)
However the Star reported that during the raid on the security company's compound on Monday, the military police had 'confiscated assault-rifle ammunition'- claiming it was 'stolen from the military'.

The Star writes: "this comes in the wake of several exposés by The Star about alleged corrupt arms dealings by Dave Sheer Guns and two SAPS brigadiers: Hlamane Elias Mahlabane and Mathapelo Miriam Mangwani:.
On Sunday Mangwani, from the Central Firearms Registry, and the section head of firearms compliance, Brigadier Mahlabane, were suspended without pay for their alleged involvement in issuing gun licences to Dave Sheer Guns in exchange for bribes."
The Star article continues: "On Monday morning, investigators raided SBV Services - a cash-in-transit security company owned by the country’s four major banks - where live rounds and spent military bullet cartridges were found.
The bullets were allegedly stolen from the military and sold to Dave Sheer Guns, who then sold it on to SBV.
“They found quite a store of spent cartridges with the military stamp on and live rounds with the military stamp on,” said an investigator close to the case, who cannot be named.
“If you can get hold of empty cases you can make your own rounds. Quite often they recycle them,” the investigator said, adding that it was unclear how many bullets and cartridges had been found, but that they were 5.56mm - also known as .223 - rounds that can be used in R4 assault rifles.
This matches the description of the bullets in a witness’s affidavit given by a former Dave Sheer Guns employee who was apparently complicit in the alleged theft and subsequent selling of the bullets.
The affidavit stated that cash or company cheques were allegedly paid by Dave Sheer Guns employees, with amounts ranging from R20 000 to R250 000, to the supplier of the bullets.
The former employee said the delivery of bullets “took place on a regular basis” and that SBV’s first purchase allegedly included stolen military rounds, Kevlar vests and steel plates for bullet-proof jackets.
THREE MILITARY POLICE VEHICLES:
" Outside the SBV comound on James Crescent in Midrand, three military police vehicles arrived at about 9am on Monday. Seven military officers were on the scene and are believed to have acted on intelligence that the ammunition might be moved. For more than an hour they had to wait outside for “the big boss” of SBV to arrive, a military police investigator at the scene said.
"Eventually, a group of five middle-aged men arrived, briefly spoke to the military police and then disappeared behind the palisade security fence covered in black netting.
"One of the men - believed to be connected to SBV - tried to stop The Star from taking photographs. “This is a secure compound,” he said, but walked away after being told that photos would continue to be taken 'as it was a public road'. “You think you’re funny? I don’t appreciate your attitude,” he said as he walked off.
"After another 40 minutes, the military police were finally let in, and throughout the day, several armoured cash-in-transit vehicles came and went through the security gate. When the military police left the premises to go to apparently investigate SBV’s other depot in Pretoria, the SAPS arrived and said they had been asked by SBV’s security to stop photos from being taken.
"An employee from a company across the road wondered why so many vehicles were allowed to park outside SBV’s premises.
“They’re (SBV) intimidating, those guys, if you stop there for two seconds they normally chase you away,” she said.
"Mike Shipton, the general manager of SBV, could not be reached for comment.
"SBV’s website reads: “We have since evolved into an independent commercial company and are now equally owned by the four major banks in South Africa.”

Die rowers het wel daarin geslaag om net met ’n ou selfoon en motorsleutels skoonskip te maak, maar nie voordat hulle Gert van Deventer se ringvinger amper afgebyt het om sy trouring in die hande te kry nie.
Van Deventer was die oggend in sy motorhuis doenig om meubels te herstel terwyl sy 72-jarige vrou, Susan, in die badkamer was.“Die motorhuis se deur het oop gestaan en drie mans het verby geloop. Hulle het my vriendelik gegroet en verby gestap. Ek het omgedraai en verder aan die meubels gewerk toe dieselfde drie mans op my afstorm,” het Gert gesê.
Hy het gesê sy motor het half by die motorhuis uitgesteek, maar twee van die verdagtes het verby die motor beweeg terwyl die derde die deur tot op die motor toegeslaan het.
“Hulle het ’n mes teen my keel gehou terwyl hulle my geslaan het. Hulle het my selfoon uit my sak gehaal, maar gelukkig my beursie gemis.”
Hy het daarin geslaag om van die aanvallers weg te breek en ’n houtpaal gegryp en een van sy aanvallers oor die kop geslaan.
Hulle het hom egter weer oorrompel en hom ook met die houtpaal geslaan terwyl een van die verdagtes die mes teen sy keel gehou het.
Hulle het hom oor die bene geslaan en een het sy vinger gebyt om sy ring te probeer bekom.“Ek het hom hoor gil, maar was in die badkamer doenig gewees. Dit het aanvanklik geklink of hy skreeu hy het omgeval, maar toe was dit eintlik aangeval. Ek het vir hom gesê ek kom, waarna die drie mans gevlug het,” het Susan gesê.
Hulle vermoed die verdagtes het die pad gevat omdat hulle nie geweet het of Susan ’n wapen by haar gehad het nie.Gert het gesê dat hulle met sy selfoon en motorsleutels weggekom het.Die egpaar het gesê hulle woon al 46-jaar indie huis en alhoewel daar verskeie inbrake was, is dit die eerste keer dat een van hulle aangehou is.
Die egpaar het gesê hulle vrees egter nie vir hul lewens nie, maar dat die aanval hulle meer paraat gemaak het. Gert het gesê ’n mens is geneig om gemaklik te raak en dan jou veiligheid agterweë te laat, maar hy was gelukkig weer tot realiteit geruk.
Volgens die Van Deventer-egpaar was die Moot-polisie vinnig op die toneel, maar die verdagtes het daarin geslaag om weg te kom.
“Ons maan alle inwoners om paraat te wees. Oppas vir verdagte mans en stel jul eie veiligheid eerste. Sluit alle deure en bly paraat,” het Gert gewaarsku.

Early last week a coloured Afrikaans-speaking father of two, Wayne Blaauw, was hacked to death with machetes by a mob of about 60 black males in a nearby squatter camp next to Velddrift. Two days earlier another coloured Afrikaans-speaker (the community refers to themselves as 'Bruinmense' ) barely escaped with his life when he ws also chased by the mob when he had gone to make repairs in the squatter camp. The mob ran around the squatter camp brandishing hatchets and machetes and shouting "When Mandela Dies We Will Kill You All the Next Day'.

Police spokesman Andre Traut confirmed to the Argus journalist that five armed males rushed into the business in Station Road, Montague Gardens, at 4.30pm on Tuesday and ordered the victim and his daughter, who is in her 30s, to open the safe. The other (6?) employees were held at gunpoint. "At some point, shots were fired and the victim was fatally wounded", said Traut. “His daughter sustained a gunshot wound to her leg and was admitted to hospital. The suspects fled and are yet to be arrested,” Traut said. Bader has been described as widely respected, and his death as “a huge tragedy”. Bader’s daughter has not been named by police. She is in hospital.

I wish to thank Ros of the Parkhurst garage and Nicky of Alphabet Soup, who were absolutely amazing in keeping my mother alive until the arrival of the paramedics. To Cathy Cohen for contacting me so quickly and to Core Tactical and the Parkview police for apprehending the intruder. A big thank you to the medical staff at Milpark hospital for stabilising my mother so quickly. Thank you to the fine lady who liaised with me at the hospital and not only kept me informed, but who also took my personal feelings into account.
My faith in the human race has been restored after such care was shown by all. I hope that the justice system holds up and that this lunatic is charged with attempted murder and put away for a very long time.

Italian businessman and staff illegally harassed, terrorised, racially abused by SAPS in Yeoville

The businessman, an Italian citizen, writes: ""I ,xxxxxxx hereby declare under oath and in English that the following statement I am about to make is as result of the what transpired last night the 15 July 2013 at 17h45 until 20h30. I write this statement as I am afraid of the consequences of my action and fear retaliation from the South African Police Services.
Last night at approximately 17h30 to 17h45 my staff and I were driving home in a convoy of 3 vehicles as we normally do. I left the convoy on XXXX Street to fill up at the service station. Unaware that the other two vehicles had been stopped by an unmarked police vehicle with two police officers inside.
I arrived home before my staff and became concerned that the other two vehicles had not arrived before me. I phoned the one driver and he informed me of the situation, he said that two of my staff members had been arrested and put into this unmarked vehicle. He also informed me that the two officers suspected that I was Chinese and that they wanted to speak to me directly. He informed that the officers had now instructed the two vehicles to proceed to my home were they could speak to me.
I waited for the vehicles to arrive, and made a note of the registration of the white Ford ST’S registration. The number being BRW 348 B, I immediately recognised this plate of that belonging to the S.A.P.S. and exited from my vehicle to speak to the officers.
The driver of the vehicle dressed in full Police uniform and a black beret exited the vehicle and began questioning me on weather I owned the vehicles or if I had hired them. I informed him that I owned the vehicles to which he replied “well then you making too much money”
He proceeded to tell me that I was in contravention of an act of parliament and that he was going to arrest all my staff. Exactly what we have done wrong I still can’t tell you. The officer would not clarify what he was arresting us for. His only reply was that he was going to prove us wrong and that we thought that we were clever.
Both officers then began harassing my staff, threatening to “clap” them if they got clever. Two of my staff members were detained in their vehicle for not having identification, my two drivers were questioned for their licences and then told they were fake, then were threatened with arrest if they opened their mouths. The other three occupants in my vehicle (all staff members) were then questioned and told their passports and work permits were invalid.
My staff member that was sitting in their vehicle got out and offered to produce the documentation they requested and he was threatened again with his life if he got out of the vehicle. At that point my wife came out of the house and was witness to the events that happened from that point on.
I tried to speak calmly and listened intently to what they were saying and tried were possible to assist the officers in requesting documentation from my staff. The officers became very agitated and said that the two members in his vehicle were now his property and he could do with them what he liked. I requested both officers to produce their police identification as both did not wear any name badges. This request was turned down, with the explanation being that I did not have any right to request such information.
I then requested that another police officer should be present to witness what was transpiring, and offered to call either the Yeoville or Cleveland Police station. I was told that there was no other person on duty and that they were the law. My staff was according to them illegal immigrants, I had broken some act of parliament and that was that. I told them that I was Italian and who was to say that I too was not an illegal immigrant, why not request my identification, the reply was because we don’t care and don’t tell me what to do. Racist was one term that they called me, but I thought better then act on such stupid comments.
Both officers then climbed into their vehicle, my one staff member refused to go with them and produced the necessary documentation for them to view. They told him to get out or get “fucked up”. I intervened and requested they tell me where they were going with my member of staff. The reply” Pretoria central prison” At that point both officers turned on me threatening me with assault and telling all my staff that they were going to teach me a lesson.
The car sped off and followed the vehicle, trying to ensure the safety of my employee who was still in the vehicle. The vehicle headed into the direction of Eastgate and once on Marcia road made a uturn and proceeded into Yeoville. At this point I phoned 10111 and requested assistance from the operator, the operator told me she did not know what to do and said I should hold for her superior.
A couple of minutes later whilst still following the vehicle I spoke to a Sargent who said I should rather go into Yeoville and inform the Police, open a charge were his exact words. Now please spot the mistake……..go to the police to report on the police. Something is wrong with this scenario I thought to myself. I continued to follow the vehicle which was making its way through Yeoville at this point.
I phoned 702 and a lady gave me the number of the news room, I phoned them. I spoke to lady by the name of Thando who listened to me and said she would phone me back with some information.
After proceeding down Rockey Street the vehicle came to a stop at the corner of Joe Slovo drive. Immediately another vehicle stopped behind me, a VW Caravelle black in colour registration BSP 413 B, the occupants came out of the car but never approached my vehicle. I began to feel very intimidated, and phoned Thando back at the Eye Witness News desk hoping she would be able to keep me on the line while we were stationery. I also felt that I needed to tell someone were I was as I was unable to contact my wife. At this point the driver of the white Ford opened my passenger door and got into my car.
He wanted to arrest the other occupants of my vehicle which I had already told to get out of the car as I was speeding trying to keep up with the Ford. The other officer then told me that I was under arrest for aiding a criminal to escape and we were to go to Pretoria central. His colleague sitting in my passenger seat then asked me how we were going to sort this issue out. I told him I was not interested in sorting anything out but rather wanted to go to the Police station to be arrested by other officers. At this point unknown to the officer I had Thando listening in to the conversation, the officer requested money and I refused. He then realized that my phone was busy with a call as I held it in my hand in front of my mouth. The officer got even more agitated and tried to slap me with his Samsung Ipad. I said to him “give me the address of the Pretoria central Police station” and that I would meet him there. His response was, “ask the person you have on the phone to give you instruction”
He then told me it would be better I “fucked off quickly before my friends teach you a lesson”
And also said that “I Should shut the fuck up or there would be consequences”
I felt very intimidated and although was concerned about my staff member still in the back of their vehicle thought it would be better to leave the scene. I phoned Thando back and confirmed with her that she had heard the conversation with me and the officer, which she confirmed. Thando then gave me a telephone number for a lady at Corruption watch called Pippa. I contacted her and explained the situation. Pippa informed me that she did not know what to do and could not refer me to any other person. Later that evening I did receive a sms from her stating that Mr Abrahjee said it would be better to open a case at the nearest police station, which would have been Yeoville.
I immediately went back home to my wife who was beside herself with worry, and with another two staff members went back to Joe Slovo drive to look for the vehicle. My staff members pleaded with me not to go as they repeated to me what the officer had told them that “they were going to fix me”.
I continued to drive up and down Hoe Slovo drive until I received a call from the staff member in the police car informing me that he was kicked out of the car after having been threatened if he did not hand over money. He did not have any money on him and he was kicked out not far from Rockey street. I must add at this point that he is a legal person with all the necessary documentation.
I collected my staff member who was totally beside himself, we then proceeded to the Yeoville police station to open a complaint against the officers. Upon arriving at the station we noticed that the VW Kombi had arrived behind us, my staff refused to exit the car and my wife pleaded that we leave without opening the case. This morning upon leaving my home a white Mercedes Benz C class with no number plates and four occupants were waiting for me outside my home. The occupants all dressed in what seemed to be black clothes. I watched my wife leave home and then went to collect my staff as I usually do. The vehicle followed me to the boom gates were I collect my staff; it slowed down next to me and then sped off.
Three of my staff have not arrived for work today complaining that they are scared to come back, and another two arrived at work today not wearing their branded jackets which I bought for them as they fear that they will be recognised and harassed.
My staff and I were totally shocked by last night’s event and this morning at our daily meeting they requested we lock ourselves in the warehouse. Both myself and my staff fear that this is not the end of the matter and that there will be some sort of retaliation by the officers concerned
I have never in my life felt so hopeless and alone, fear has overwhelmed myself and not to mention my staff. Last night trying to find someone to help me was one of the most terrifying experiences in my life, I would like to ask either the police or Lead SA to intervene on our behalf and maybe even look at setting up some sort of call centre were we can call in and receive assistance from an impartial organisation that can at least assist us during moments of complete and utter hopelessness.
Again, I write this letter in the hope that if something should happen to my staff or myself that this matter will be taken further."
