Statistics before apartheid and thereafter: deaths in police cells: Before 1994, an annual 2,4 people average died in the South African Police cells at the height of the anti-apartheid riots and 'states of emergency from 1963 to 1990 - when the police service was reorganised, the state of emergency lifted and the country entered the 'peaceful transition period' towards ANC hegemony from 1994. (source: page 170, "The Atlas of the Apartheid," by A.J. Christopher, publisher Routledge, 1994). (this also included the apartheid-era statistics in NAMIBIA - which then was under SAPS control). -------------------- ALSO: http://www.sahistory.org.za/topic/list-deaths-detention ---------------------- Under Democratic ANC-rule since 1994 the number of people who died unnatural deaths in South African police cells reached the average of 900 a year by April 3 2013: URL http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/Over-900-die-in-police-custody-in-a-year-20130304 ============================== DETAILS, NAMES, DATES, PICTURES, REPORTS OF ABOVE: ============================= More than 900 deaths in SA police cells by 2012 - compare to 1963 - 1990: when there were a total of recorded deaths of 73 -- nearly 2,5 people A YEAR. --------------- Story with pictures of page views of reports on: http://censorbugbear-reports.blogspot.nl/2013/07/deaths-in-sap-cells-1963-to-1990.html Deaths in detention 1963 to 1990 - during the 'state of emergency' years at the height of the anti-apartheid rioting. From 1990, the SA government started reorganising the SAP, renamed it the SA Police Service, and maintained statistics differently. http://www.sahistory.org.za/topic/list-deaths-detention ================================== Deaths in SAP cells 1963 to 1990; compared to 2013 Did 'thousands of black people' really die in police custody during apartheid? Well no... not even 'hundreds'.... This was the ANC government propaganda ( from http://wwww.Lilliesleaf.co.za.) "During the states of emergency from 1963 which continued intermittently until 1989, anyone could be detained without a hearing by a low-level police official for up to six months. "THOUSANDS of individuals died IN CUSTODY, frequently after gruesome acts of torture. Those who were tried were sentenced to death, banished, or imprisoned for life." http://www.liliesleaf.co.za/pb_apartheid.php --------------- The SAP statistics during the states of emergency from 1963 to 1990 were: -- 73 people died in SA police custody from 1963 to 1990: (names, details, page view of reports on http://censorbugbear-reports.blogspot.nl/2013/07/deaths-in-sap-cells-1963-to-1990.html and below) AND http://www.sahistory.org.za/topic/list-deaths-detention ------------- The current ANC-regime and its supporters often publish propaganda-claims about 'thousands' of black South Africans having died in SA Police custody during apartheid - and this is now widely believed. However this is not backed up by the statistics from that era: from 1963 to 1990, in a 27-year-period at the height of the anti-apartheid riots, a total of 73 people were recorded as having died in SA police custody. http://www.sahistory.org.za/topic/list-deaths-detention. Critics will argue that the apartheid-statistics were 'not reliable', however even if they were understated by 100%, the apartheid police-cell deaths still pale by comparison to the latest report from the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) which claims that between 720 to 900 people died in SAPoliceService custody in the book year 2011/2 alone. (depending on which source wrote the story). Deaths in SAPS custody were 695 in 2006 and by 2010 they had reached 860 deaths. By 2011, they were well above 900 deaths. Let's repeat that again: more than 900 people died in police-custody in 2011 ALONE. Only the annual Amnesty International summaries have some paragraphs tucked away mentioning this horrific fact. No screaming headlines, no frantic international protest actions. Why did world opinion come to such a screeching halt once the ANC came to power? ------------ By April 11 2013, it was reported by the SABC that 'at least' 720 people had died 'due to police conduct' in the 2011/2 book year: but that only 36 people were convicted for those offences. The SABC quoted the Independent Police Investigation Directorate spokesman Moses Dlamini.( The Sunday Times quoted 'at least 900 people') .The IPID also revealed that it had received almost 5,000 complaints against the SAPS during the 2011/12 financial year (which runs from March 2011 to April 2012). The IPID spokesman said "many incidents were not public knowledge, unlike some deaths, which made news such as the incident where taxi-driver Mido Macia died in police cells after being dragged behind a police van - a horrific event which was recorded on bystanders' video-cameras and placed on YouTube. However according to a Sunday Times report on March 4 2013, 'over 900 people died in South African Police Custody. In one year. http://www.timeslive.co.za/local/2013/03/04/over-900-die-in-south-african-police-custody - http://www.sahistory.org.za/topic/list-deaths-detention ----------------------- (pictures of page views of reports on http://www.sahistory.org.za/topic/list-deaths-detention are attached): WHO WERE THE PEOPLE WHO DIED IN SAPS CELLS 1963 TO 1992? In 1963, there were two deaths in SA police cells: of Solwandle Ngudie, 41, on September 5 1963, at Kompol, Pretoria (held 17 days) listed death cause: suicide by hanging. Also in September, the death cause for Bellington Mampe, age unknown, and who was held in a police cell in Worcester for 140 days, was not explained. In 1964, there were two deaths: of James Tyita, age unknown, on 24 January and who died in Port Elizabeth allegedly by suicide (hanging); and on Sept 9 1964 Mr Suliman Salogee, 28, died in Johannesburg after he was held 65 days, allegedly by suicide: 'jumped from the seventh floor'. In 1965, there were two deaths in SA police cells, both in the Transkei homeland: and both on September 5, where Ngeni Gaga, 28, and Pongolosha Hoy (age?) died 'of natural causes.' In 1966, three people died, all three of 'suicide': James Hamakwayo on September 19 after 13 days in detention; Hangula Shonyeka on September 19 after 40 days in detention; and Leon Pin on November 11 after one day at Leeukop Prison, Pretoria. In 1967, two people died of unknown causes: Mr Ah Yan, 63, on May 1 after 37 days of detention at the Silverton Police Station, and Mr Alpheus Madiba on September 9, after one day in a further unspecified police cell in Namibia. -- (South Africa's government was also under control of then-South West Africa at that time under a UN-mandate). In 1968, there were three deaths: but the record-keeping also started becoming particularly poor: it was noted that three people had died of unknown causes at Pretoria Prison: namely Jundea Tubukwa on September 11, one totally unknown person on an unknown date, and on October 3, Mr James Lenkoe died after five days in detention. Their ages also were unknown In 1969, fourteen people died, but details of only 7 are known of: Nicodemus Kgoathe (Feb 4 held: Silverton Police Sta. -- Died: HF Verwoerd Hospital ); Solomon Modipane (Feb 28 Held: Silverton Police Sta. Died: HF Verwoerd Hospital); James Lenkoe (March 10 held at Pretoria Prison, died in Port Elizabeth police cells); Caleb Mayekiso (June 1 died in Ondangwa , South West Africa police cells ); Michael Shivute (June 17 Pretoria Prison); Jacob Monakgotha (Sept 10 died at Maitland Police Station, Cape Town); and Imam Abdullah Haroon, (Sept 27). Their causes of deaths were not registered. In 1970, there were no deaths recorded in police cells. In 1971, two people died: Mr Mthayeni Cuthsela (held 40 days in Pondoland, died at Transkei Hospital January 21) and Mr Ahmed Timol Ahmed(died October 27 held at John Vorster Square, Johannesburg and died at Transkei Hospital after five days in detention. From 1972 to 1976 there were no deaths recorded in SA police cells. In 1976: a total of 14 deaths were recorded in SA police cells, all of unidentified causes; and amongst them one 16-year-old youth who was held for nine days at Modderbee Prison - and also, one person remained anonymous: and none of the death-causes were listed: They were: Joseph Mdluli, 50, died after less than one day at the Durban Security Headquarters; William Tswane, 25 July, less than one day at Modderbee Prison, East Rand; Mapetla Mohapi, 25, August 5, after 22 days in Kei Road Jail, East London; Luke Mazwembe, 32, less than one day at Coledon Square, Cape Town; Dumisani Mbatha, 16, September 25, after nine days in Modderbee Prison where he died; Jacob Mashabane, 22, died October 5 at the Far East Rand Hospital after he was held at an unknown police cell for four days; on October 5 an unidentified man died at the Johannesburg Fort; on October 9 Edward Mzolo, 40, died at the Johannesburg Fort after 8 days; on November 19, Ernest Mamashila, 35, died after three days in the Carltonville police cells; on November 26, Tbalo Mosala, 60, died after 87 days in a cell at the Johannesburg Fort; on December 11 Wellington Tshazibane, 30, died at Balfour Transvaal after two days; and on December 15, George Botha, 30, died: he was held for five days: first at Butterworth Transkei, then at Johan Vorster Square Johannesburg: he died at the Sanlam Building in Port Elizabeth: The list does not provide any causes of death. In 1977 there were 13 deaths: all identified -- but none of the death-causes were listed: They were: Lawrence Ndanga, 53, January 8 (unknown place, held 51 days); Dr Nanaotha Ntshuntsha, 43 (January 9, after 26 days at Johannesburg Fort; Elmon Malele, 23, (February 15, after 25 days at John Vorster Square, Pretoria); Matthews Mabelane, February 15, died in Johannesburg; Joyi Tsasifeni, 45, died February 22 at 'a nursing home' after 22 days (?); Samuel Malinga, 35, (February 26, after 106 days at John Vorster Square Police Headquarters cell, Johannesburg; Aaron Khoza, 27, July 7, after ten days at Idutywa police cells, Transkei homeland; Phakamile Mabija, 59, August 1 after 65 days Pietermaritzburg Zululand; Elijah Loza, 26, August 3 after one day in Pietermaritzbrg; Dr Hoosen Haffejee, 62; August 13, after 1 day in Edendale Hospital; Bayepin Mzizi, 31, September 12, after 24 days in Pietermaritzburg; Steve Biko, (31) died September 12 after he was held (and tortured) for 31 days: he was transferred from several police cells, was assaulted enroute and also in the Port Elizabeth cells and died in Pretoria Prison. On 18 August 1977, activist Steve Biko, 31, who was Ghandi-ite i.e.: a supporter of non-violent confrontation - as opposed to the ANC's armed struggle -- was arrested at a police roadblock under the Terrorism Act No 83 of 1967 and interrogated by officers of the Port Elizabeth security police including Harold Snyman and Gideon Nieuwoudt. This interrogation took place in the Police Room 619 of the Sanlam Building in Port Elizabeth. The interrogation lasted twenty-two hours and included torture and beatings resulting in a coma.[15] He suffered a major head injury while in police custody at the Walmer Police Station, in a suburb of Port Elizabeth, and was chained to a window grille for a day. On 11 September 1977, police loaded him in the back of a Land Rover, naked and restrained in manacles, and began the 1100 km drive to Pretoria to take him to a prison with hospital facilities. He was nearly dead owing to the previous injuries.[19] He died shortly after arrival at the Pretoria prison, on 12 September. The police claimed his death was the result of an extended hunger strike, but an autopsy revealed multiple bruises and abrasions and that he ultimately succumbed to a brain hemorrhage from the massive injuries to the head,[15] Later post mortems revealed that he had died from a counter-coup injury to the brain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Biko In 1978 there was one recorded death in SA Police Custody: Mr Lungile Tabalaza, 19, on 10 July, after less than one day at the Sanlam Building Police cells, Port Elizabeth; in 1979 no deaths were recorded . In 1980 there was one death: Mr Saul Ndzumo, 58, who died on 10 September in the Umtata police cells, Transkei homeland after nine days detention. In 1981, two people died in SA Police detention: Mr Manana Mgqweto, 60, on September 17 in Engcobo, Transkei homeland; and Mr Tshithhwa Muothe, 28, died on November 12 after two days in the police cells of the Venda homeland; In 1982, there were two deaths: Dr Neil Aggett, 28, died on February 5 after 70 days of detention at the John Vorster Square Johannesburg security-police headquarters. And Mr Ernest Dipale, 21, also died there on August 8 after three days of detention. Kenyan-born Dr Neil Aggett 's torture-death was also widely publicised: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Aggett In 1983, there were two deaths: Mr Simon Mndawe, 23, died on March 8 at the Nelspruit prison after 14 days of detention, and Paris Malatji, 23, died on July 5 on the same day he was detained at the Protea Police Station in Soweto. In 1984, three deaths: Mr Samuel Tshikudo, 50, held at Venda for 77 days; Mr Mxolisi Sipele, in June at the Tshizidzini Hospital after 150 days detention; and Mr Ephraim Mthethwa, 22, died on August 25 at the Sulenkama Hospital, Transkei after he was detained for 165 days in the Durban Central Prison. In 1985, there were two deaths recorded: Andries Raditsela, 29, on May 6 at Baragwanath Hospital after two days detention; and Balandwa Ndondo, 22, died September 24 at the Cala, Transkei homeland police cells, where he was taken the same day. In 1986, there were four deaths: Mr Makompe Kutumela, 25, at the police station of the Lebowa homeland police, where he was arrested the previous day; Mr Peter Nchabaleng, 59, on April 11 at the Uponton police station (1 day); Mr Xoliso Jacobs, 20, October 22 after he was held 129 days at Modderbee Prison; and Simon Mafule, 20, who died in the local hospital after 183 days in Benoni/Boksburg detention. Below: 1987 to 1989 in 1987 (below) three people died in SAP detention: Mr Benedict Mashoke,20, on March 26, after 215 days detention at the Burgersfort Police station; Mr Eric Mntonga, 35, after one day in the Mdantsane cells, Ciskei homeland; and Nobandla Bani, 56, after 333 days of detention in the North End cells, Port Elizabeth. In 1988 (below) two people died: Mr Sithembele Zokwe, 36, after one-day detention, Butterworth, Transkei homeland on January 12; and Mr Alfred Makaleng, 27, held for 804 days at the Nylstroom cells; and who died at Johannesburg Hospital. in 1989 there were no deaths recorded in South African Police detention (below) http://www.sahistory.org.za/topic/list-deaths-detention In 1990, three people died in SA Police detention: namely Mr Clayton Sizwe Sithole, 20, on January 30, after four days in detention at John Vorster Square, Johannesburg police headquarters; Mr Lucas Tlhotlhomisang, 37, on March 26, seven days detained at Klerksdorp police cells; and Mr Donald Madisha, 30, who died on June 1, at Potgietersrus police cells, where he was detained for 130 days. --------------------- From 1990, a reorganisation of the SA took place, entering the 'transition period' to 1994, when the ANC-regime took over hegemony of South Africa. ----------------------- From 1990, the "apartheid-era"- SA Police: ( background on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_African_Police ) was enlarged and reorganized while the country was entering the 'transition period from apartheid to a non-racial society' . The police also were renamed, and are now called the SAPoliceService ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_African_Police_Service ). Because their statistic record-keeping also was reorganised, It can thus be very clearly established that before 1990 - i.e. during the height of the apartheid years - the numbers of people who actually died in police custody were very much lower than the present horrendous death rate in the cells of the current SA Police Service. Every death in any police cell anywhere in the world is always one death too many. With efficient, strictly controlled and supervised policing, such deaths in police custody should not occur at all. ( More relevant statistics to help make comparisons: -- by 1987 South Africa had 4,8 million whites and 18,2 million blacks. The SA police were undermanned during the sixties and early seventies - when the size of the SA police force declined relative to the population. -- By 2013, South Africa had a population which was soaring well above 51-million, with at least 8million illegal black-Africans from the rest of the continent, not included in this total by SA Statistics. Police increased from 48,991 members to 93,600 by 1991 and was renamed South African Police Force: By 1981 the police force of roughly 48,991 members represented a ratio of less than 1.5 police per 1,000 people, down from 1.67 per 1,000 people in the 1960s. Alarmed by the increased political violence and crime in the mid-1980s and by the lack of adequate police support, officials then increased the size of the police force to 93,600—a ratio of 2.7 per 1,000 people—by 1991 and the police was renamed to the SAPoliceService. Functions: Before the reorganisation in 1990, the SA police were authorized to act on behalf of other government officials when called upon. For example, in rural areas and small towns, where there may be no public prosecutor available, police personnel could institute criminal proceedings. Some '' small-town' police officers even conducted their own legal post-mortem examinations under the guidance of local doctors. The police could also legally serve as wardens, court clerks, and messengers, as well as immigration, health, and revenue officials. In some circumstances, the police were also authorized to serve as vehicle inspectors, postal agents, and local court personnel. -- By 2013 the number of police officers had increased to 225,000 members. Yet -- amazingly, with apartheid "officially ended" -- the current government obsessively maintains very detailed records of the racial composition of all the country's workers, including its police-force - while not maintaining any racial demographics of their crime-statistics. (The SAPS currently also consist of a large reserve division named the "South African Reserve Police Service" who often work as low-paid part-time patrol officers with local Citizen-Policing-Forums.) The total policing force has about 225,000 members. In 2010 the police were 'remilitarised' after having been reorganized on a civilian basis at the end of apartheid. Some crime-experts believe that this has also been a key cause of an escalation in political repression by the police. uarding police-rights: Since 1996, three police unions were founded to represent police personnel's rights. These are the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union, which has about 150 000 members; the South African Police Union (SAPU), which has about 35,000 members; and the Public Service Association (PSA), which has about 4,000 members. The ANC-government notes in 2008 that the commissioned officers in the force in 2011 were 57% black, 28% white, 10% coloured, 5% Indian; 70% male, 30% female. Non-commissioned officers were 78% black, 10% coloured, 10% white, 2% Indian; 78% male, 22% female.[1] In reality many of the 'white' posts remain unfilled, with whites actively discouraged to apply for these jobs or denied advancement in these posts In the bookyear March 2011 to April 2012, a total of 932 people died in police custody in SA: in ONE YEAR: -- This was reported by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) revealed. KwaZulu-Natal had 268 deaths with Gauteng second at 217 deaths and Eastern Cape had 120, the Dispatch Online reported. Meanwhile, eight police officers, implicated in the death of an East Rand taxi driver, are expected to appear in the Daveyton Magistrate's Court on Monday. The two warrant officers and six constables face a murder charge following the death of Mozambican citizen Mido Macia while in police custody. The officers were video-taped - this was placed on YouTube - tying 27-year-old Macia to the back of a police van and dragging him along a street in Daveyton .Macia, died at the local police station's cells several hours later. His body was found by a police officer on Tuesday night. A post mortem revealed he died of head- and internal injuries.Ipid spokesman Moses Dlamini said police reported that they had earlier found Macia wrongfully parked on a road and ordered him to move. Macia's death caused a public outcry against police brutality. The Dispatch Online reported that the Ipid was also investigating the death of a policeman who died in police custody at the Barkly East police station in January, a day after he was detained for allegedly being drunk. ---------- URL: http://www.timeslive.co.za/local/2013/03/04/over-900-die-in-south-african-police-custody ----------- Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTchDhCuZM ------------ http://en.wikipedia.org /wiki/South_African_Police --------------- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_African_Police_Service -------------------- http://www.sahistory.org.za/topic/list-deaths-detention ----------------- pictures: "After apartheid from 1994: Just a few of the unpunished murders by police officers of detained civilians in cells: (picture attached: James Brown was bludgeoned to death in Kriel SAPS cell where he had been detained ALONE. FW de Klerk and the covert dealings with the USA government prior to the 1994 elections which handed over power to the ANC-regime. -- For 2 decades accusations against the FW de Klerk government have been flying about. Many people have been whispering about huge sums of money being paid over by Swiss bank accounts to NP politicians and government operators to hand over the SA government to the ANC. For 18 years nothing could be proven, till now: in 'project Hammer' - which was an undertaking by the USA goverment to rescue some of its major banks who faced insolvency. The De Klerk government entered the fray to help syphon gold and diamonds as collatoral as an emergency buoy for the USA's ailing banks. CITIBANK Gen. Erle Cocke ran Nugan Hand Bank’s Washington office. In April 2000, Cocke gave a deposition running to 67 pages concerning his knowledge and involvement in Project Hammer. Ten days later he died from Pancreatic cancer. His explosive deposition reveals him as a very significant and highly connected player in a world few of us are familiar with. Cocke related in his statement how Citibank was used as halfway stop for dodgy financial dealings in ‘black gold’ through Project Hammer – some 30 accounts used. Asked where these accounts were located, Cocke responded saying – in almost one solid block at Citibank. PROJECT HAMMER Project Hammer was a desperate undertaking by the USA gov. to rescue some of its major banks, who, by the end of the 1980’s, faced insolvency. These banks included Citibank, HSBC, Chase Manhatten and the Bank of New York. The project was designed to cipher gold and diamonds as collateral as an emergency buoy for the ailing banks and to put the USA’s economy on track again. It is at this stage that South Africa’s De Klerk government entered the fray – as major gold and diamond supplier, it was the easiest and cheapest way to rescue the USA banking sector. Only one small problem: South Africa was in political turmoil with the white rightwing challenging the NP government on all fronts. The best smokescreen Citibank could think upon to move large amounts of money and gold bullion was: -- Create political instability (between the NP gov. and the ANC. Then create a political vacuum where dodgy gold and diamond deals could be done without too many questions (maybe even an interim NP/ANC gov. where the minimum control would facilitate covert gold and diamond movements). -- Project Hammer involved the trading of $13.6 trillion in debentures resulting in a ‘fallout’ of about $1.1 trillion which was stashed I the Howard Hughes account in Credit Suisse. -- Obviously, in a project of this size, a lot of organizations had to be involved: The CIA, FBI, all the NSA agencies, Pentagon in he broadest sense of it and as such, the Treasury and Federal Reserve. Nobody got out of the act, and everybody wanted to get in on the act – for there was lots and lots of money to be made. EXECUTIVE OUTCOMES, SANDLINE and the STASI Another individual who has played a considerable role in Project Hammer, was Rolf van Rooyen, who operated a number of business entities including one called ‘Oceantech’ and another called ‘Eastech’ International Bank. At one time Van Rooyen worked for SA Intelligence and is also believed to have been working for the CIA at the time Project Hammer was in process. Of significance is the fact that Gen. Cocke and Van Rooyen knew each other, although Cocke says he only spoke to him on the phone but never ‘shook hands with him’. During a police interview in Germany in1995, Van Rooyen when questioned about Project Hammer responded: if you are referring to Operation Hamer, it is an extremely large, very delicate operation in co-operation with the authorities of various countries in which Oceantech is involved.. Working alongside Van Rooyen, was SA Intelligence operative Riaan Stander. Both Stander and Van Rooyen were board members of the “Eastcorp Syndicate” which boasted almost two dozen other companies in it’s stable. Included were Intercol Pty, Ltd, Cavo Shipping – which conducted intelligence gathering missions for governments, and Bridge S.A. The latter was registered in Monrovia, Liberia. According to Peter Goslar, once a close friend of Riaan Stander, other board members of Bridge S.A., were Colonel Tim Spicer and Mick Ranger of ‘Sandline’ fame. In a letter written to a Washington law firm involved in a lawsuit involving Project Hammer, Goslar fingers Bridge S.A. – and hence Van Rooyen and Riaan Stander, as ‘part of the Executive Outcomes operation. Eastech International Bank, was underwritten by a Mexican firm Ro-Mar Pharmaceuticals, a firm claiming to control over $100 billion in gold. Van Rooyen and Stander entered Eastech into an agreement to purchase 5000 metric tones of gold at a discount of 4% from the Second London Fix. This gold was held in the free zone area beneath Zurich’s Kloten Airport. Interestingly, the contract, which ran to 6 pages, bears the official stamp of the Swiss Police, authorizing and validating the transaction. By 1995, Eastech International Bank had begun to hit the radar screen of regulatory authorities around the world that viewed it with suspicion, but by then it seems probable that much of Project Hammer’s SA objectives had been fulfilled. Fearing the worse, Rolf Van Rooyen left S.A. and traveled to Germany. According to his one time friend, Peter Goslar, this is where he still lives albeit protected by former members of the East Germany’s Stasi spy-network. Rudolph Ignatius van Rooyen – born in Kroonstad on 29 April 1959 ID no. 590429 5021 085 Last known address: Rheinstern Hotel 1610, Rheinstern, Dusseldorf, Germany. Alias – Rolf Rondine. Director – Eastech International Bank, established in China and underwritten by a Mexican Firm. Contact person – Miss Lin Ying, China. Riaan Stander Security director of Eastech Steve Potnak – managing director of Eastech Bank Steve Pansegrow – military intelligence officer supplying Eastech with intelligence reports. He also supplied highly confidential information to C1, in the names of Eugene de Kock and Pieter Botha. Pansegrow’s wife was a receptionist for Van Rooyen and Stander. Irma Els – operator helping in Ifafa – Eastcorp. Fanie Smith – operator who signed validation certificates for Eastcorp. - Letter of credit no. 9022101 signed by Fanie Smith and honoured by the bank and with a revenue stamp of the Greek gov. - Certificate of deposit of $5 million, stamped by the Greek Gov, signed by Fanie Smith. - Certificate of deposit of $25 million, stamped by the Greek Gov, signed by Fanie Smith. - Directors of Eastcorp and Intercol as at the registrar of companies: Roelf van Rooyen, Riaan Stander, Douglas Randall. Intercol: Eugene de Kock, Gen. Tai Minnaar, Pieter Botha. Policemen and members of military intelligence served on both Eastcorp and Intercol. - Dr. HP Bauer – involved with operator “Rosie”, Dr. HJ Schuster – agent of FAS in the US, Julian Rosie – director of FAS in South Africa. - Riaan Stander liased directly with intel. Officers from C1 (SA Police), namely Eugene de Kock, Chappies Kloppers, Pieter Botha and Willie Nortje. They asked help from Eastech to infiltrate rightwing groups in Pietersburg and for help in the movement of large quantities of weapons. - MAS 57/08/92 – Pretoria North Case ref, investigation officer – Lt. Col. AE Botha conducted and investigation into the irregularities, but it was never made public or brought to court. Moving money between accounts is easy, especially when it is done with the blessing of the major banks and government, but moving gold and weapons around the globe is not so easy. Enter one of the key players, shipping tycoon Tony Giordiadis, from Greece. Giordiadis had very close ties with Richard Carter (now corporate manager of BMW), the spokesperson for the SA President FW de Klerk. On May 11 and 12, 1990, De Klerk paid an official visit to Greece. Here he met with Pres. Caramanlis and Prime Minister Mitsosakies. De Klerk also met Tony Gordiakis at this time. Of Greek origin, but London based, Georgiadis shipped oil to SA in contravention of sanctions and developed close relations with members of the NP gov. to distribute money freely, Georgiadis opened a bank account in Liberia for Mallar Incorporated (it was also through this account that bribes to the tune of $22 million wer paid to ANC officials during the Arms Deal). Geordiadis’s father-in-law Lanaras once served as director of the shipping firm Alandis. The conspirators were faced by another huge obstacle – the loyal members of the Defence Force, Military Intelligence, National Intelligence Agency and the South Africa Police, who would immediately put a stop to the transactions, should they find out. ‘THE NIGHT OF THE GENERALS’ De Klerk fired all loyal officers to that his collaborators could move freely. On December 19, 1992, FW de Klerk fired 23 senior army officers, including navy officers, who could pose a threat to his plans. So great was the speed with which De Klerk acted that even the army’s public relations office was not informed of the press conference. In addition, many of the officers disciplined, were on holiday and were unaware of their suspension. The axed officers included: Major-General Chris Thirion, Deputy Chief of Staff, Intelligence, who had a reputation of being one of the more progressive of the younger generation of generals, Major-General Hennie Rouw, Chief of Army Intelligence, Brigadier Ferdie Van Wyk, Director of Army Communications, who master-minded Project Echoes, Brigadier Tolletjies Botha, Director – Directorate of Covert Collection, which was raided in November by investigators of the Goldstone Commission, including UN personnel, Brigadier Oos van der Merwe, Director of Army Intelligence, Commander Jack Widdowson of the Navy. He named only three other officers, Colonel At Nel, Colonel Chris Prinsloo and Commandant Stephen Snyders, who were all put on compulsory leave. This followed the purge of 19 police generals in August as part of a drive to bring the police in line with the negotiation process. The further Indemnity Act pushed through parliament in August, needed to help ease officers out. The November raid on Military Intelligence’s Directorate of Covert Collection in November, by Goldstone investigators which provided the pretext for setting up the probe headed by Gen. Pierre Steyn. A top-level meeting between senior Umkhonto We Sizwe and SADF officials in early August, brokered by the National Intelligence Service, which generally carries out the will of the cabinet. December’s ‘rationalisation’ measures which include the retrenchment of 6000 middle ranking officers followed. In just 5 months, De Klerk had opened the door wide, for his own operators to continue the sell-out. “I have never before seen a government destroy its own power base, such as this one is doing” – said former chief of Military Intelligence, Gen. Tienie Groenewald, while the country is steadily moving towards complete chaos, the government has effectively neutralized the SADF’s intelligence capacities by removing the eyes, ears and nose of the defense forces. The Greek shipping tycoon could now go about his business unhindered. Georgiadis was of course also implicated in the swindle with the sinking of the greek ship , Salem, off the African coast earlier in what was decribed by Loydds of Great Britian as the biggest maritime swindle ever. “Salem – Lloyd’s pursues what may be the biggest maritime swindle ever – At 10:50am Greenwich time on Jan. 17, crewmen aboard the tanker British Trident, sighted a ship in distress off the coast of Senegal in Northwest Africa. The Salem, a 214 000 ton supertanker, registered in Liberia, was listing and dead in the water. By radio contact with the tanker, Trident learned that a series of mysterious explosions was responsible for the disaster. Indeed, a cloud of orange smoke billowed from the tanker’s deck. By 11:30 the disabled ship’s greek-born captain, Dimitrios Georgoulis, and his 22 crewmen, most of them Tunisians, had….” Side note: It was at this time that the whole Project Hammer was put at risk by FW de Klerk’s impulsiveness. German operators learned that De Klerk was having an affair with Georgiadis’s wife, Elita (Lanaras’s daughter). A memorandum was sent to the CIA, who decided to put a lid on the affair, until after the completion of Project Hammer. Knowledge of the affair would not only open a can of worms, but it was not clear what Georgiadis’s reaction to the affair would be. It this only became public after another two years. There would be a twist – Marike de Klerk.. When FW de Klerk divorced Marike to marry Elita, a clause was written into the divorce agreement that De Klerk would be able to censor any books or article Marike might decide to write – which indeed he did when he prevented the publication of a chapter titled Grotgesprek (cave conversation) in the autobiography titled ‘n Plek waar die son weer skyn. But Marike de Klerk was not done yet. Then, sadly, on 2 Dec. 2001, she was brutally murdered in her Dolphin Beach complex, Bloubergstrand apartment, hours after sending an undisclosed fax to Holland. Curiously – the European Union paid R30 000 into the account of the murder accused – Mboniswa, channeled by the Foundation for Human Rights, for DNA tests. Mboniswa stood trail in the Western Cape High Court and was found guilty of the murder, without taking the stand in his own defense. What was the follow wat the orchestrated and directed ‘political reform’ as was dictated to by foreigners of this country. The reform was steered by international banks/financiers as well as foreign intelligence agencies. The subsequent buy-out of South African politicians and role players, culminated in the demise of a country…. https://www.facebook.com/groups/111574382205718/permalink/953128101383671/

Hatecrime: Domestic worker Mafsehediso Lisbeth Makashea in court over alleged physical abuse of Afrikaner baby Nico Linde, 7 months: video https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=rpWccfLe2Cc By Sapa jan 05 2015 -- Welkom domestic worker Mafsehediso Lisbeth Makashea appeared in the local registrate's court on dec 23 and was released on R1000 bail. She was arrested after he was caught on video beating her employers' seven-month-old baby boy. Lt-Col Thando Mbambo said the worker was ordered to appear in court again on 29 January 2015. Annami Linde (33) a nurse, said she was worried about leaving the baby with the new carer who started working for them on 1 December 2014. She had a previous bad experience with the previous domestic and for her own peace of mind set up a camera to see how the new domestic handled her children. Her husband Org 37 also was concerned because their little son Nico 'struggled to go to sleep' when he was left in Makashea's care. "He normally doesn't struggle to go to sleep'. Annami had gone shopping on 21 December with the couple's six-year-old daughter Sarika and left the baby boy in Makashea's care. When she returned she was terribly shocked at what the video had recorded. Her son was on a blanket in front of the TV and Makashea, who is a live-in domestic worker, sat on the couch and ignored little Nico when he cried. At one stage he started moaning: and she slapped him and pushed his head down on the floor. Then she pulled him up to the couch with force, angrily grabbing his shirt to pull him up. The baby starts crying loudly. At one stage she roughly pushes a dummy into his mouth and throws him down on the couch when he continues to cry. She holds him against her for a few minutes but then hits him with the blanket when he moved. "Those views of my child crying, I will never get out of my head, and I blame myself to a degree,' she told Beeld newspaper. "My child is not a difficult child. He's an eat-and-sleep baby, easy to care for, ' said Annami. Org said while Nico didn't seem to have sustained any physical injuries, their normally friendly baby's behaviour has changed considerably. 'Our doctor said while internal injuries cannot be excluded, Nico now is aggressive, struggles to sleep and suddenly has started reacting negatively to sudden noises such as the vacuum cleaner. He didn't used to do that before'. Annemi wants justice to prevail. Ever since they've seen the video things are not going well for the family. "I trusted her to look after my children, my flesh and blood. One feels guilty,' she said. And since the video was made, Makeshea is also taking it out on their little girl Sarika, 6, snarling at her and once locking her up with little Nico in the worker's bedroom while she left the house. "Sarika told us that if we dared to tell (the Linde parents) she would tell them that Sarika 'was naughty and the parents would beat her'... Makeshea also has two children of her own. Police officer necklaced after shooting three people: one 18-year-old black male shot dead at New Year's Party in South Africa: Winterveld, Pretoria; The Daily Sun: http://bit.ly/1wafnU7 http://www.politicsweb.co.za/politicsweb/view/politicsweb/en/page71627?oid=896993&sn=Detail&pid=71616 ALL NIGHT and into the early hours of the new year, the party carried on at the fourway stop. But the happy revelry soon turned into a horror story when bullets started to fly. And soon the necklaced, naked body of an off-duty cop lay on the ground. Yesterday witnesses told Daily Sun how the police officer – a man they described as a “cop from hell” – arrived in a 4x4 bakkie at the fourway stop where the party had been going on, and fired shots into the air. Then, after having made his way through the revellers in the middle of the road, he allegedly fired into the group behind him. “He took careful aim as though he was trying to display his skills with a firearm. He appeared to be extremely drunk,” said a resident of Winterveld, Pretoria. He also was at the party which had started at the Maplankeng Tavern. Angry patrons confronted the policeman and managed to disarm him, but then the events took a turn that was even more horrible. The man was stripped naked and beaten with rocks and bottles, then paraffin was poured over him and he was set alight. Finally, the policeman was necklaced with a burning tyre and he died at the scene. When cops arrived, the other passengers in the 4x4 were taken away before the crowd could attack them as well. Meanwhile, one of the people shot by the cop, Katlego Mahlangu (18), died after he was rushed to the local clinic. His grandfather, Moses Mwale (59), said: “We are hurt. We don’t know what to say.” The other two victims were admitted to hospital in critical condition. The deadly drama caused the Molefe Makinta Highway to be blocked off for about three hours. Sergeant Thembi Nowathe of the police told Daily Sun: “Two counts of murder are being investigated by Loate Police.” Gauteng police’s Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng said the docket was handed over to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.

KwaZulu-Natal province's farmers targeted by 793 farm attacks since 2001 of which 128 were murders. All the attacks reportedly were carried out by black males. January 5 2015 By SHERLISSA PETERS There have been 793 farm-attacks in KZN since 2001 - of which 128 were murders. reports IOL. In 2014, there were 15 murders and 67 attacks on KwaZulu-Natal farms according to the provinces Agricultural Union. This was up from 10 murders and 47 attacks on KZN farms in 2013. -- According to statistics provided by the union’s security desk manager, Koos Marais, and verified by police, there have been 793 farm attacks in the province since 2001 - 128 being murders. Marais said some of the cases came before the Pietermaritzburg High Court in 2014. * In one of the most savage farm attacks in Midlands history, Richmond farmer Ekard Schutte, his wife, Elizabeth, and their son, Lutz, were slain on March 1. Judge Louis Barnard sentenced Zamo Maduna, 19, Siphesihle Ngubane, 20, and Lindo-kuhle Khoza, 18, to three life terms each for the murders, 15 years for robbery with aggravated circumstances, and five years for the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. Maduna was employed as a gardener on the Schutte farm and was the mastermind behind the attack. Ekard, 76, Elizabeth, 66, and their youngest son, Lutz, 33, were stabbed repeatedly, their throats slit and they were then doused with petrol and set alight. Lutz had flown from Germany that day to celebrate what would have been his father’s 77th birthday the following day. The bodies were found by their son, Stefan, when he arrived at the smallholding. * Two men convicted of the murder of Underberg farmer and timber contractor, Dan Knight, were sentenced to life in prison plus 15 years for aggravated robbery and assault. Judge Jerome Mnguni found Tsepiso Ramonyane and Bonginkosi Nyawose guilty of murder and aggravated robbery, as well as the assault and robbery of his partner, Beth Bucher, on their farm, Outlook, in October. The couple were attacked by a gang of five men in balaclavas and dark clothes. Knight was bludgeoned to death with a hammer, monkey wrench and other weapons. Bucher was gagged with bandages and bound with cable ties and had a surgical glove pulled over her face in an attempt to suffocate her. She was also beaten and had the barrel of a gun shoved into her mouth. * Siboniso Mtolo was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Eston sugar cane farmer, Mick Hampson. Mtolo pleaded guilty to murder, as well as a charge of robbery with aggravating circumstances, for which he was given an additional 15 years by Judge Isaac Madondo. Hampson, 69, was shot dead on September 27 last year when he and his son confronted two men trespassing on their farm. Hampson and his son, Murray, were talking to a group of workers when they noticed two suspicious-looking men walking on their property. Hampson instructed them to get onto the back of his bakkie and drove them towards his farmhouse to call the police. Murray, who was armed with a shotgun, was sitting in the back of the bakkie with the men when they wrestled it out of his hands and shot Hampson. The men then fled into the sugar cane plantation. Hampson died on the scene. * Nkosinathi Mngadi and Sifiso Ngubane were sentenced to life behind bars for the murder of Ixopo farmer, Peter Hackland, and a further 23 years for robbing and assaulting Hackland’s daughter, Louise Hartwig, and secretary, Margaret Fennel, on Cromleigh Farm on May 7. Mngadi and Ngubane approached Hackland on the pretext of seeking work. They then drew guns and demanded money from him. When he told them he had no money on the farm, the two assaulted and tortured his daughter and employee, punching and kicking them, and then threatening to shoot them. They sprayed pepperspray in their victims’ faces, before again demanding money, but when no cash was forthcoming, they shot Hackland, killing him, and fled with his wallet and cellphone. * A robber who murdered Dalton farmer, Abraham Wessels, because he was “glaring” at him, was sentenced to an effective 20 years in prison. Ayanda Mathobela, 34, pleaded guilty, saying Wessels, 55, had looked aggressive during a robbery at his friend’s farm, Bell-view, on June 29. Mathobela put the gun against Wessels’ head in an attempt to scare him, whereafter he accidentally pulled the trigger, killing him. Mathobela said he and his two cohorts had planned to rob the couple who owned the farm because they were unemployed and needed money. * The killers of KZN farmer, Willem Weites, also received a life sentence. The men pleaded guilty to attacking Weites, 78, his daughter, Everlien, and their workers at their farm near Vryheid on the morning of October 21. Everlien and her 76-year-old mother, Gerdina, were assaulted by the robbers, who made off with R40 000 in cash, jewellery, cellphones and the dairy farmer’s bakkie. Weites was shot after he threw a spanner at the attackers, who were armed with knives and firearms. The attackers had approached him on the pretext of buying milk, before producing weapons. * The killers of slain Winterton restaurateur and mielie farmer, Rajoo Grewan, were also sentenced to life in prison. Nhlanhla Gumbi and Siyethemba Mfeka were convicted of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances. Grewan, 41, who ran a restaurant on his Sophia’s Rust smallholding in Winterton with his wife, Philile, was shot on the night of June 7 after being attacked by two gun-wielding men. He was confronted by his killers minutes after picking up Philile from a church service at his mother’s home. The assailants held the couple at gunpoint, demanding cash. Grewan, who was also armed, struggled with the gunman and was shot in the neck after a violent scuffle. The killers then left in Grewan’s bakkie, taking Grewan with them, before dumping him in the mielie plantation bordering the property. Still alive and struggling to survive, Grewan dragged himself back onto the road, where he was found by his sister, Anne. He was rushed to hospital, but later died. On 6 January 2015 the RidgeTimes of Bethal, South Africa reported that the two brothers and their friend were migrant-contract-workers for a farm-organisation in South Dakota, USA when they got involved in the head-on collision on 26 December 2014. The Highway Patrol of South Dakota are still investigating the cause of the crash, which happened when the three men were in MC's bakkie enroute to their work. All three Afrikaners were from the farm-region of Bethal in South Africa, and the stepbrother of the two surviving men also works at the same company. Many whites in South Africa are forced to find migrant-jobs outside the country and often even off-continent, because of the ANC-regime's anti-white black economic empowerment laws which bar whites from working. The ANC has made more than 110 laws stopping whites from earning any kind of a living for their families. The picture of the accident scene came from the Corson County Sheriffs Office, McINtosh, in South Dakota, USA. http://ridgetimes.co.za/26888/bethal-broers-ernstig-beseer-vriend-dood/ http://ridgetimes.co.za/26907/een-dood-en-twee-kritiek/

Traumatised widow Elsabé said they had already finished supper and she was in bed, watching TV while André was walking to the kitchen for a glass of water. The next moment she heard a rustling noise and when she looked up, a black male stood next to her bed, holding a spade, ordering her to remain quiet and demanding 'money and jewellery'. Strangely, as is often done by blacks when attacking white victims, the thug threw a blanket over Mrs du Preez and then bashed her with the spade in her face - knocking her unconscious. "He may have believed I was dead because when I came to briefly, he was gone. I passed out again and when I woke up I went looking for my husband'. André 's memorial service will be held this Friday - when he would have celebrated his 76th birthday. SAPS col Sabata Mokgwabone said the thugs took away 2 cellphones, a tv, a tablet computer and a wedding ring and they are investigating murder/robbery, and that the white man had died at the scene. Hartbeespoort, informally also known as "Harties", is a small resort town in the North West Province of South Africa, situated on slopes of the Magaliesberg mountain and the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam. It was previously known as Schoemansville, named after General Hendrik Schoeman, a Boer General in the Anglo-Boer War, who owned the farm that the Hartbeespoort Dam was built on.[2] The town consists of holiday homes around the dam as it is popular with visitors from nearby Gauteng Province. It is home to the Om Die Dam (English: Around the dam) ultra marathon of 50 km, which takes place annually in the first half of the year.

Swedish tourists robbed of all their belongings, cameras, money, passports by a gaggle of ARMED CHILDREN in Khayelitsha. It's not known whether charges will be laid by the tourists. They reportedly were 'unperturbed' by the armed robbery... Question: Why do South African and foreign travel agents actively encourage foreign tourists to visit dangerous, violent areas such as Khayelitsha, near Cape Town? 7 Jan 2015: Cape Town newspapers report that 'four gun-toting CHILDREN' held up 17 Swedish tourists who were visiting the 'Iliso Care Society' in Khayelitsha on Monday, 5 January 2015. "The Iliso Care Society runs programmes including a project to address unemployment, a day-care centre and a food-garden. 'The children held up the tourists at about 11.30am,' said Vivian Zilo who founded the Ilison Care Society. She claims: "The tourists were UNPERTURBED by what has happened to them as these tourists claimed that this was 'not a true reflection on the situation in the area'... they are GRATEFUL they are unharmed,' said Zilo, who herself fosters to children. She commented: "What happened is very sad because the (robbers) were children as young as 14 who smoke drugs in the community committing this crime...' Yesterday I was driving through the splendor of the Cape Peninsula, this morning I was somewhere completely different. Instead of peacefully winding through endless coastal roads we were negotiating our way through chaotic streets full of minibus-taxis jam-packed with local commuters. Here there were no opulent Camps Bay mansions with pure green lawns complete with million dollar ocean views. Rather hundreds, no thousands, of basic homes mashed together and awkwardly built from rusted sheet metal and recycled bricks. This was the second day of my #ExploreCapeTown campaign and I was on a cultural township tour through Khayaletisha with Wilderness Touring. Before learning more about Iliso from Vivian, I went out on a short walk with the guys from the youth group. As we confidently walked through the streets of Kyhelitsha the guys offered insight into life in the Cape Town townships. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them as we spoke about their pasts, the challenges they face living in Khayelitsha and importantly, the many projects they are involved in within their immediate community. etc http://www.capturingafricajourneys.com/cape-town-township-tour-with-iliso-care-society/ ============== Swedish tourists robbed of all their belongings, cameras, money, passports by a gaggle of ARMED CHILDREN in Khayelitsha 7 Jan 2015: Cape Town newspapers report that 'four gun-toting CHILDREN' held up 17 Swedish tourists who were visiting the 'Iliso Care Society' in Khayelitsha on Monday, 5 January 2015. 2 deaths due to deliberate medical neglect of poor whites Daniel Du Toit, 64 and Annamarie Tewitz, 7 -- who both died at state hospitals also is an integral part of genocidal behaviour towards a helpless minority group: ----------------- CAPE TOWN: 7 Jan 2015 A second case of alleged hospital negligence has been thrust into the spotlight this week. Days after a Gauteng mother claimed her daughter died due to neglience by staff at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital, it's emerged a 64-year-old man being treated for cancer reportedly developed a severe bedsore before dying last week. Daniel du Toit was being treated for colon cancer at the Karl Bremmer Hospital when he died on New Year's Eve after a bedsore he had developed became septic. The Parow man was buried yesterday. Western Cape officials had promised to investigate the cause of his bedsore. The Action on Elder Abuse (AEASA) NGO says hospital patients who develop bedsores die painful deaths. AEASA’s Pat Lindgren says festering bedsores develop due to neglect. “This gentleman’s death, I think we can credit directly to neglect and septic bedsores.” Lindgren adds du Toit’s wound was one of the worst she had ever seen. https://www.facebook.com/boerekrisisaksie/photos/pcb.1064717990221412/1064717743554770/?type=1&theater ANNAMARIE TEWITZ, 7, died of neglect, claims her mother Earlier this week, Christa Tewitz told Eyewitness News she had to fight with surgeons at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital to help her daughter Annamarie. The 7-year-old died on Saturday. and will take legal action after the seven-year-old passed away. The cancer survivor was in remission after suffering from a brain tumour but was readmitted to hospital after Christmas. Tewitz says it was a fight with surgeons from the very beginning. She says the surgeons would not see her daughter until the young girl stopped breathing and she laid complaints. The hospital has denied any wrongdoing https://www.facebook.com/boerekrisisaksie/photos/pcb.1064717990221412/1064717926888085/?type=1&theater

The Engelbrecht family was hijacked in their driveway in Helderkruin(Roodepoort) this past Saturday by three black men who had followed them from the doctor in a red BMW - police fails to respond to emergency calls Jan 6 2015: Deon and Annemarie Engelbrecht had just come from the doctor at 8pm when a red BMW two door coupe parked behind them, blocking the gate from closing. Two *black men stepped out of the vehicle with 9mm guns while a third stayed in the car. The two gunmen approached the driver and the passenger window with their guns raised and took Annemarie’s purse and cellphone. The assailants then ordered the two to step out of the vehicle and lie on the floor. “I just begged them not to shoot my husband because in cases like these, they always shoot the men first. They replied that they will not to anything because "they knew my husband was sick. This means they had followed us from the doctor,” said Annemarie. The assailants then asked if there was anybody in the house. Fortunately the rest of their family was in the house. “I was afraid for my grandchildren, normally when we drive in they would rush out of the house and greet us,” said Annemarie. The assailants then took the car keys and drove off with Audi Q7 in a rush. Deon and Annemarie immediately got up and called for help. They called the police four times before they got through. According to the family, the police reacted so slow that they had to ask for help from Dowry security who was parked in a nearby petrol garage. They claim it took the police 45 minutes to arrive at the home and were unhelpful. When they arrived, one of the officers allegedly asked where the car was. The car, which is fitted with a tracker, was found parked in Orlando East after Deon drove alone to retrieve it. The family has opened a case of hijacking at the Roodepoort Police station and the car will be sent to Lenasia’s section 13 to be cleared. This is not the first incident that has occurred in the home, just last year, three bicycles were stolen from their property on Christmas Eve and the police have allegedly done nothing to investigate. In another incident, a man tried to threaten a relative with a gun to open the gates of the home. The relative tried to call police and the police did not respond. The police could not be reached for comment. Flashback to 3 December 2012: What happened to these youths in the Narysec militia training programme by the SANDF OF BLACK-ONLY youths: "ANC youths enrolled in SANDF military training courses (Narysec) for R1200 a month out on strike, demand R4500 monthly stipends. -- 3-dec-2012 | Zoë Mahopo | 35 comments STAFF at the Gauteng department of infrastructural development were locked inside their offices by a group of National Youth Service Learnership holders yesterday. The group, who had blockaded all entrances to the building, accused the department of failing to deliver on its promises, including paying their monthly (R1490) stipends on time. They also demanded the monthly stipend be increased to R4500. Old office shelves and red tapes were used to blockade the entrance to the building. "We are going to render the department ungovernable. No one is leaving this building until the MEC comes out to address us," shouted one of the group. The group had marched from the Johannesburg Metro Centre and made its way to the offices in the CBD at about 9am. The protesters wanted to deliver a memorandum to MEC Qedani Mahlangu, Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane and city manager Trevor Fowler. They demanded that their monthly stipends be increased from R1490 to R4500. They also complained that the department did not have a strategy to integrate them into the working world upon completion of the internship. Some of them carried signs reading: "R4,500 or Marikana!" Learner Mkhululi Nkosi said they were looking to (THE BLOODBATH OF MINERS AT) Marikana as a "source of inspiration" because, "despite the bad things that happened there, it yielded results." (The miners received bonuses and triple their previous wages) Some of the "learners" claimed they had not been paid for November. Department spokesman Thulasizwe Simelane, who was also trapped in the building, said the MEC would not address the group because they "did not announce their intention beforehand" . After three hours of picketing, MEC Mahlangu appeared from the building to address the group. She appealed to the group to forward their grievances to the relevant department.-- URl: http://www.sowetanlive.co.za/news/2012/12/13/disgruntled-learners-hold-state-employees-hostage --- background =========RURAL SAFETY TRAINING COURSES ONLY FOR BLACK YOUTHS: AFRIFORUM LODGES LAW SUIT http://censorbugbear-reports.blogspot.nl/2012/09/secret-militia-training-of-black-youths.html Narysec: 80,000 ANC youth league members getting military and guerilla training - no whites allowed: training at SANDF bases http://cape-report.blogspot.nl/2011/08/anc-youth-league-military-training.html?m=1 and http://www.censorbugbear.org/farmitracker/reports/view/304 Aug 31 2012 Luthuli House ANC-headquarters, c/o former Shell House, Johannesburg "The ANC Youth League and Young Communist League have since last year been receiving full-time training at several SANDF military bases across the country. The training is government funded and currently at least 8000 black youths 18-35 years of age will receive 2 years training at a military base. No whites are included in this programme, nor any youths from any other political Youth groups. According to the Defence and Military Veteran Minister, they aim to train about 20 000 youths a year. The first batch to receive training were 500 youths recommended by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, altogether the Department recruited 2500 to take part in the programme and has urged them “to emulate the young revolutionaries of the 1976 generation”. “Skills development will include discipline, patriotism, life skills, rights awareness and specific skills areas empowering youth to change rural areas” The official name for the group is the National Rural Youth Service Corps (Narysec). In May last year 600 Narysec recruits had already received training at a military base in Bloemfontein. Their commander ordered them to paint the words 'UHURU' on white stones overlooking a busy road. The incident needs to be viewed in context, since it occurred just days after the murder of the AWB leader Eugene Terre'Blanche, making the message seem even more relevant and threatening to the Afrikaners and farmers living nearby. 'Uhuru' means 'freedom' in Swahili but in South Africa the word has generally taken a different term, meaning the 'killing of all whites'. The word is associated with large-scale violence and massacres against former white colonists in African countries gaining independence in the 60's and 70's. If you ask anyone in SA they'll know what you're referring to if you mention 'uhuru'. The Afrikaner civil rights group Afriforum tried to give a petition to the Minister and ask for more details in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act. Their request for information on the subject was rejected and called 'unnecessary' and they were told the Minister did 'not have time to answer questions' from them. The Minister has however been quoted in the past as saying that the programme was started in order “to train the youths as rural census-takers”. This has led Afriforum to officially launch a law suite under the Freedom of Information Act to force the Minister to give public details about the nature of these civilian military training schemes. The reply so far from the Ministry of Defence has been that even though training takes place at military bases no military training takes place “but we teach them how to salute and parade and we show them the guns”. They claim they "do not teach the recruits to use the guns...". The Minister also claims they are taught “a lot of skills such as electrical engineering, business management and other skills.” Though why these skills need to be taught at a military base instead of the many specialised colleges and training campuses across the country is still a mystery. It sounds more like a loop-hole for the ANC to use the law and public funds to militarise their followers, particularly the Youth League. The fact that political youth groups affiliated with the government will be receiving training at military bases is an ominous one with too many horrific parallels in modern history. One of the most recent and most relevant would be Zimbabwe. Their National Youth Services militia also started out with the same claims and were later used as a tool for invading white owned farms and property. But their main acts of terror were against the population in general, using murder, rape and violence to intimidate voters and punish areas which had dared support the MDC opposition party. The youth are always the easiest to mold ideologically and due to conditioning at such a young age have often been some of the cruelest torturers. For example, the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia used mainly teenagers as their torturers and interrogators in the notorious Tuol Sleng torture facility. Likewise, the Red Guards, who were mobilised by Mao Zedong in China, were mostly students and teenagers. There are many cases of these youths publicly denouncing and even torturing and killing their own parents. Another more obvious example would be the Hitler Youth. They never received weapons training before the war, most of the focus was on political indoctrination and mentally preparing them for conflict and war. As well as familiarising them with military life and procedures such as basic training, marching, unit cohesion etc. Propaganda, indoctrination: Besides military training the most dangerous aspect is the propaganda and indoctrination, since all members will be associated with the ruling party and will have their ideology and principles drummed into their heads on a daily basis. And at the age where propaganda would have the maximum effect in shaping their minds. The ANC claim they won't be using any weapons, only 'shown' them. Personally, I don't believe this. Why are they training at a military base in the first place for so-called 'life-skills' and 'management' training? This could be done in any school or college. They'll also use military style uniforms, have ranks and use military salutes. -- The government must think the public are either very naive or very stupid. Or maybe they just don't care what anyone thinks since they have the majority in parliament, and like with all other laws they can just steam-roll whatever policies they want in place, no-matter the public reaction, especially from the opposition parties. Either way, having civilian members from the ruling party in a one-party dominant state receive military training is never a good idea. At least in a so-called democracy. http://cape-report.blogspot.nl/2011/08/anc-youth-league-military-training.html?m=1
