Afrikaner Jason Saal, 23, dragged 'begging and crying' while being held by the neck by total strangers who were dragging him alongside a moving car for two city blocks.
------------
Kroonstad, Free State, South Africa - 23-year-old resident Jason Saal is slowly recovering from injuries sustained while he was dragged two city blacks alongside a high-speed car by an unknown man who held him up by the neck.
Volksblad daily Afrikaans newspaper said Jason, who is from Môrewag, begged and pleaded with the man to let him go.
His horrific bullying ordeal took place shortly after New Year when he and friends went out to celebrate a friend's birthday.
The group of young men were ordering food at a drive-through fastfood restaurant at around 04h00 when his brother Tyrone 20 got into a verbal row with one of the friends in the parking lot.
Suddenly unknown men in a passing car also got involved and Jason said he walked closer to find out what was going on. He saw 'fists flying between the two groups of men'.
"The next moment a passenger in that other vehicle, a man I didn't know from Adam, grabbed me around the neck, holding me firmly while the car started driving.
They dragged him to the road and two blocks further down before he fell down on the tarmac. His sneakers fell off during the ride.
"I begged and pleaded with the man to stop, grabbing the passenger while the car was moving to stop him from falling underneath the car.
"I didn't know whether to try and let go or hang on to him, he said. Two blocks farther down he dropped to the pavement, hurt and covered in blood and went to hide behind a building, terrified the unknown men would be back.
Meanwhile his brother and the friends were out looking for him and became 'hysterical' when they saw him so badly injured.
He required 10 stitches to his head, sustained second-degree burn-wounds to his right-heel and his left foot also is still hurting with a blue little toe.
A case of attempted murder was lodged at the Kroonstad SAPS. Jason's mom Tania said the SAPS and the doctor told her that this was 'not an isolated incident''
"I want people to know what is going on in Kroonstad,' she said.
