Medical doctor Genchen Rugnath, wife Ravina, Sandile Patrick Zweni, Nonduzo Dlamini and Bhabha Dubazini appear in Durban Regional Court on Wednesday on 156 human-trafficking and brothel-keeping charges.
On Thursday an 18-year-old girl told the court that she was kept locked up in a room until she became addicted to crack cocaine.
The girl, who turned 18 on Friday, was giving evidence in the case of a doctor, his wife and three other people facing charges of human trafficking, racketeering and keeping a brothel.
The girl cannot be named because she was a minor at the time said said the brothel-keepers then prostituted her to feed her new habit.
They've pleaded not guilty.
