Johan and Talitha Duvenhage, 55, beaten black and blue, suffer headwounds, son Johan's ring torn off with attacker's teeth
. (Beeld hournalist Riata Nel reported the Sunday August 18 2013 attack on Tuesday, 20 August 2013_.
------------------
The SAPS have confirmed that tThree black, English-speaking gunmen invaded the Sasolburg home of the three-member Duvenhage family in broad daylight on Sunday, and beat the parents Johan and Talitha Duvenhage, 55, so badly 'that the blood was running'. The elderly couple emerged from the ordeal with blackened eyes and Mr Duvenhage senior probably with a concussion as he had passed out after the beating. The couple had been pistol-whipped by the gunmen. Their son Johan Junior 33, had a particularly nasty experience: he lost his wedding-band when the black thug spit on Duvenhage junior's finger and then tore it off his wedding band with his teeth, scraping the skin raw.

NOTE: THIS MIGHT HELP CONVICT THE THUG:
( *He donated his DNA by spitting on the finger, and as it happens just a few weeks ago, South Africa approved a law to set up a central DNA-register to help trace such criminals)
------------------------
The gunmen had ambushed father and son Duvenhage inside the garage of their home in Colenso Street, Sasolburg. The three black males held firearms to their heads at around 16h00 on Sunday. The black men spoke English to the Afrikaners and threatened to shoot the men dead. They demanded that Duvenhage senior use the long-distance remote to close the garage doors so they wouldn't be seen robbing them from the outside - however the remote was inside the house. So they marched the Duvenhage men into the house at gunpoint. They pushed Duvenhage senior to the ground, one stood with a foot on his head while Mr Duvenhage's shoes were taken off, the laces removed and his hands and feet tied up with them.
While Johan junior was being tied up one thug bit away his wedding band. 'My wedding ring was tight and I always had to use soap to get it off,' Duvenhage junior volunteered.
His hands were tied tightly behind his bed and as is often done by black robbers - they covered him up with a blanket.
Both Duvenhage men lost their wedding rings. Meanwhile they also tied Talitha, 55, to a chair. "She even got up and pushed the panic button but they couldn't be bothered,' said Johan Senior. She was pushed to the couch and repeatedly pistol-whipped over the head while she fought back 'like a cat', she said. Because she'd pushed the remote the thugs waited for the security official to arrive, calling to his two comrades to wait for him. "All three left through the front door to wait for the security guard and I was able to get myself loose and was rushing towards the front door to lock it behind them when they walked back inside with the guard. Meanwhile Mr Duvenhage senior also locked the door to the TV room where they were - however the three thugs kicked the door open and beat Johan senior so badly over the head that he lost consciousness. The thugs fled with their loot and a neighbour's son, who had noticed something amiss at the house shortly thereafter, rushed inside to help the victims get lose and called the SAPS and emergency services.
