The three convicted Murderers / kidnappers of Mrs Aletta Rueping 86, farm Rietpoort Tarkastad: killers Xolani and Ayanda Frans and Thandiwe Kondile -were sentenced to life + 35 years imprisonment on 5 counts by Grahamstown High Crt. The original charges of 'robbery' and 'housebreaking' did not appear on the later docket. They were convicted of 'Murder, Kidnapping and possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.'
There is no detailed information available from the police about the exact manner in which Mrs Rueping (or Rupping?) was murdered. The police have remained very closed-mouthed about it, even though the evidence introduced in the court is a matter of public record and any members of the public can ask for access to it - and publish the details..

The Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt General Celiwe Binta has welcomed the hefty sentence which was handed down by the Grahamstown High Court on 20 March 2015 to the
three (3) convicted murdeerers of Mrs Rueping, who lived on the farm Rietpoort, Tarkastad.
Three suspects -- two males and a female -- were arrested in connection with the case.
All three were found guilty of Murder, Robbery with aggravating circumstances; (1) Murder, (2) Kidnapping, (3) Possession of fire-arms and (4) of ammunition.
They were sentenced as follows in the High Court in Grahamstown on Friday. All the sentences are served co-currently, in other words the sentenced are not added up together.
-- Xolani Frans, 44 and Mrs Ayanda Frans, 33, were sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, 15 years for kidnapping, 10 years for firearms-possesion and 5 years for possession of ammuniton.
-- Thandiwe Kondile, 35, was sentenced to life, 15 years and 10 years imprisonment.
Lt General Celiwe Binta expressed her satisfaction with the sentence, and said
“These sentences must send a strong message to all would-be offenders that we will leave no stone unturned in the investigation of crime and criminal activities in the Province”.
