Following community protest that began yesterday morning in Jericho, the community allegedly set alight the tribal council office as well as the belonging to a Councillor between 21:00 and 22:00. It is alleged that before setting alight the buildings, the protesters looted from two foreign national owned shops.
It is alleged that the tribal council office was partially burnt while the damage at the Councillor’s house is massive.
The situation is calm although a road leading to Brits is still blocked.
Meanwhile, in Letlhabile; roads leading to various destinations including Brits are still barricaded. The police are currently monitoring the situation and four suspects that were arrested in Letlhabile yesterday morning are expected to appear in Brits Magistrates Court today where they will face charges of Public Violence.
