Krugersdorp -- First in Welkom: now in Krugersdorp: Afrikaners under siege from well-organised gangs of illegal gold-miners: Westonaria mineworker Christo & Isabella Smith fear for their children's lives... -------------------- July 12 2013 - Krugersdorp -- Isabella and Christo Smith have had enough after the sixth breakin in their fortified home this year. They fear for their children's lives each day; their dogs have been poisoned, and the black breakin-gangs are so arrogant they clearly are ruling the streets of their West Village suburb. Earlier, another resident in their street Chantelle Joubert, interviewed by NUUS Afrikaans daily, also said she believed 'illegal miners' were methodically breaking into their homes and looting them. The Smith couple -- together with many other residents in the West Village suburb of Krugersdorp - are being targeted on broad daylight by organised criminal gangs which poison their dogs, tear down their security gates and break in daylight without any apparent fear of being caught. "We feel as if we are living in a prison,' they told the Afrikaans NUUS publication. The heartbroken mining-couple said they are putting their home on the market and moving out lock stock and barrel -- from the place they have called home for the past twelve years. "We cannot go on like this, we fear for our lives and for our children's lives", said Isabella - after yet another attempted daylight breakin on 5 July 2013 by four arrogant black males. "They break right through the walls around our yard to get inside. And while I was inside the house, they bashed in the kitchen window and broke apart the front door - which had just been replaced after a previous breakin', she said. She saw four black males breaking into their home, ran to fetch their (legally registered) firearm, and fired four warning shots, also pushing the emergency alarm: "And as they ran away, one of those guys had the arrogance to gesture to me that 'he'd be back'..." she said. Christo Smith says they are being looted methodically: thus far the gangs have carried off six tv-sets, three fridges, all the clothes belonging to the children, a deepfreeze, food and money.' "I have soldered-in heavy burglar bars in front of all the windows and doors, and even bricked up the kitchen's backdoor so that they couldn't get inside. Now I feel as if I am living in a prison'. "Five of our dogs have already been poisoned. A person cannot want to live like this. I work at the Westonaria mine in the daytime and don't want to even imagine what could happen to my family when I'm not at home'. In their street alone, there's 'an easy three to four weekly break-ins,' NUUS reported. This was confirmed in a previous interview with one of the street's residents Chantelle Joubert - who told NUUS that she believed they were being targetted by 'illegal miners who are breaking into the houses during the daytime."
