The consumer-Goods Risk Initiative CGRI indicates that general dealers and jewellers in South Africa have lost about R38,713,795's worth of merchandise in armed robberies - an 88 percent increase from last year's R20,545,924. The armed robberies increased by 60 percent since the previous year. Meanwhile there's a charge of terrorism being lodged against the top SAPS-structures due to the total lack of reaction at the Bloemhof police station to lodge terror charges under Act No 33 of 2004 - the SAPS refused to accept a charge of terrorism which local resident Mr Leon Beukes tried to lodge there. Maar Ian Cameron, AfriForum se hoof van gemeenskapsveiligheid, reken die regering (en SAPS) draai ons 'n helse rat voor die oë oor die dalende moordsyfers. Daar is ook sowat 650 meer moorde in die land gepleeg as gedurende 2011/2012 en poging tot moord is ook met sowat 8,7% op.
Die Instituut vir Sekerheidstudies (ISS) se statistiek dui daarop dat die moordsyfer in die Oos-Kaap in 2012/2013 op 50,8 per 100 000 mense staan. Dit is die hoogste moordsyfer in die land.
Volgens statistiek van die Verbruikersgoedere-risiko-inisiatief (CGRI) het algemene handelaars en juweliers in Suid-Afrika in 2012/2013 sowat R38,713,795 in gewapende rooftogte verloor. Dit is ʼn 88% styging van die vorige jaar se R20,545,924. Insidente het in dieselfde tyd met 60% toegeneem.
Intussen is daar 'n klag gele van terrorisme teen die top strukture van die SAPS na aanleiding van die algehele verlamming by Bloemhofpolisiestasie teen terreur (Act No.33 of 2004) waar hulle geweier het om ene Mnr. Beukes se klag hieroor af te neem.
Ek hoop maar dit sal die einde van regerende laksheid wees, veral daar waar nood dreig en lewens in gevaar gestel word.
