SAPS warns community to never let elderly women live alone after cruel murders in Free State: "Mrs Eleanor Dorfling 82 was murdered in her home in Allanridge; Mrs Cathleen Botes 53 murdered in Virginia home 28Nov; Mrs Anna Ntsane 80, found dead and naked in Hennenman home 2Dec;
-- 2013-12-12 The lifeless body of Elleanor Dorfling (82) was found in a bath full of water with blood smears all over the walls. Her arms were tied up with a tie and blood was coming out of her mouth. Free State SAPS Police Capt. Stephen Thakeng calls on the community to never leave elderly woman alone. He said: “Neighbours could see that there was something wrong in the yard of the elderly woman who was living alone. “Water was gushing out of the yard and Allanridge police were informed about the incident. Upon their arrival, the lifeless body was found inside the bath and the tap was running. A manhunt was initiated to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to the book. “The police discovered that the suspects gained entrance through the roof. A 21-year-old male suspect who was in possession of Dorfling’s car keys and driver’s licence has been arrested. A 14-year-old male also was arrested later. “A case of murder was registered for further investigation.” The police continue to search for other suspects related to this case. Other elderly women who were murdered in their homes at the beginning of this festive season are Cathleen Botes (53)
who was found dead in her house in Virginia on 28 November and Anna Ntsane (80) who was found dead and naked in her house on 2 Desember in Hennenman.
The police are appealing to the community never to leave elderly women to reside alone.
