Soap-shop owner Mrs Knight found dead with bullet-wound to head and her throat cut: West Street, Kempton Park, Nov 3 2013: confirmed by SAPS Det W/O Jan Makhura 082-787-7606. The SAPS did not provide the victim's name to the news media, claimed it was a robbery although they could not say what if anything was robbed - and described her as a 'cashier'. ----------- (Susan Bornman and Annalie Brand report that) Mrs Debbie Knight, the longtime owner of a soap-shop in West Street, Kempton Park, has been found dead with her throat cut and a bullet through her head on Tuesday December 3 2013. Her son now is enroute from Pofadder. Mrs Bornman writes that 'her son works with my son-in-law there'. Police believe she was killed during what appears to be a robbery. They could not say what had been robbed however. --------- 5 December 2013 journalist: Siyabonga Ngwenya -- 65-year old woman, believed to be a cashier, was discovered with her throat slit in a shop in West Street in what police believe to be a robbery last week Tuesday. "Police were called to a scene at about 8am where they found the body of a woman in the office of the store. Her throat was slit and she had several bruises," said Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesman. According to Mtshali, security officers responded to a panic button that was pressed and they arrived to find the body and called the police. "At this point we are not certain if there was anything taken as we are investigating the matter and we appeal to the public to come forward with information to assist with the case," he said.
