Ben 72 and Ina 68 Bossert were attacked and tortured on their farm in Brits on November 16, 2013 just after 20h00. They were tortured for two hours. They broke open the safe 'with great violence'. They were not interested in Mr Bossert's shotgun. One black man tortured Mrs Bossert by burning her cheek with an electric clothes-iron, smacked her through the face and kicked her. Another black man stabbed Mr Bossert in the head, legs and knees with a screwdriver and kicked him. The four black attackers used their car to get away in: it was found abandoned on the farm. They found nine bags of two-step rat-poison on the erf: fortunately only one of the dogs ate from it.
