Farmer Hannes de Jager 50 survives attack on Glaudina NW farm by four black males, 3 in SAPS uniforms, 'demanding diamonds' -- He was tortured with boiling water but 'not badly injured', said his wife.

Attack occurred just hours before identical attack on nearby farmer Mrs Lettie Nel, 86, of Ottosdal NW: ,
Two North West farmers attacked and assaulted by four black assailants - three dressed in police uniforms who 'demanded diamonds'. ..
13/11/2013 -- SAPS spokesman sergeant Kelebogile Moiloa said the modus operandus of the two farm attacks was identical: in both cases the victims - including farm workers -- were tied up and their mouths taped up.
Feisty Afrikaner farmer Mrs Lettie Nel (86) - who farms with livestock on the farm Klipdrift near Ottosdal, was attacked at 07h00 on November 12 2013 when she opened the backdoor to her homestead to let in her workers. The attackers ambushed her and her workers. The black workers were tied up - but special treatment was meted out to the Afrikaner famer - she was bludgeoned with a handgun, pommeled with fists, dragged around and kicked, said her son Bernie. "We don't understand such brutality. What kind of defence can an 86-year-old woman put up. They bludgeoned her. And the only thing my mother had was about R200 cash (some $8) which she gave to them.' They tied her up - but she managed to escape and hid in the cattle-shed. Meanwhile one of the workers also managed to get out of his bonds and sought help at the homestead of another son, Johan Nel, who lives nearby. The thugs fled with Nel's bakkie, some 'jewellery' and weapons, said Bernie. "We were afraid that my mom had been kidnapped, but then we saw movement in the stable and found her there, still tied up. Her bakkie was abandoned in Ottosdal.'
Just a few hours earlier, Farmer Hannes de Jager (50) was also attacked on the farm Doornhoek - located in the Glaudina area between Schweizer-Reneke and Wolmaransstad. He also was bashed over the head with a revolver by black thugs who threatened to kill him and threw boiling water over him. However his wife Riana reported that he was not seriously injured. She was absent during the attack. She added the interesting information that three of these four black attackers had worn police uniforms. The gang fled with R600,000's worth of diamonds, weapons and the Toyota bakkie belonging to the farmer. The bakkie also was found abandoned - at Rooibultpan 25 km away from the farm.
