14-year-old SA pupil Nomonde Hlungwane dies after 'bully-girl' classmate forced her to eat a poisoned sandwich - Daily Sun Friday 13 Sept 2013 Johannesburg, South Africa. A 'bully-girl' gave her pretty classmate Nomonde Hlungwane, 14 a sandwich laced with dog-poison - and forced her to eat it. The girl died a horrible death with blood coming from her ears,' writes the Daily Sun, SA's largest newspaper. The girl's distraught mother Sandra was told to report the murder to the Vosloorus police by the girl's headmaster Jerry Maphosa. The murder has shocked parents and kids at Lethulwazi Secondary School in Vosloorus, where Nomonde (14) was a grade 8 pupil. The 15-year-old bully girl reportedly is 'a troubled child who in the past has forced young kids to steal. When kids were caught they confessed that the girl had sent them," a source told Daily Sun. The bullygirl - who remains unidentified -- had forced Nomonde to eat the sandwich last Tuesday: telling her 'she had to eat it because she couldn't go back home with bread left in her lunch box." Two hours later Nomonde became sick and was taken to Natalspruit Hospital in Katlehong where she died. The grieving girl's mother Sandra Mafika wept as she told told Daily Sun her daughter had told her about the bully. "I told her to stop going with that girl because she used to misbehave," cried Sandra. She said in hospital her daughter was bleeding from her ears and mouth. "Doctors did their best but she died yesterday." She was later shocked to learn the bully had also taken the poison and was in the same hospital."I went to ask the girl why she had done such a thing. She just said both of them had taken the poison. "She showed no remorse," said Sandra. The heartbroken mother said she sent people to talk to girl's family but they didn't bother to come and see her."I felt bad because as parents they should have come to talk to me. There is nothing I can do."Their daughter is out of the hospital and still alive, while I have to live with my daughter's tragic death," said the mum. Sandra described her daughter as sweet and caring. "She lived with my parents and looked after my father, who has an eye problem."Lethulwazi Secondary School headmaster Jerry Maphosa, told the Daily Sun that the girl had been 'a pupil with great potential." He had still seen both girls after school that day and was surprised when he heard of the tragedy: "I spoke to them and they were laughing." I was surprised when I heard what had happened. "I told Nomonde's mother the matter should be reported to cops," said Maphosa. Sandra said they will open a case at Vosloorus Police Station today. Nomonde was buried on Saturday at the Rondebult Cemetery in Boksburg. http://www.politicsweb.co.za/politicsweb/view/politicsweb/en/page72308?oid=404584&sn=Marketingweb+detail&pid=90389
