Nathan Green and his workers threatened at Rooihuiskraal dump Centurion by security guard with firearms - videos 13 September 2013 - Laetitia Velleman reports that Mr Nathan Green and his workers were threatened and chased away at gunpoint from the Rooihuiskraal dump at Centurion. This is a municipal dumpsite for the legal use of local residents. They pay rates to maintain this site. However when Mr Green showed up with his workers to discard garden-waste on September 12, they were told that the 'truckdrivers of Pretoria metro are on strike and that the dump is closed'. The security guard threatened to 'shoot them if they dared to dump their rubbish there'... Green said this was the first time he has ever been threatened with such physical violence - and this by people he had actually known and been working with for the past 13 years. He tried earlier in the work and also had problems. "I have been working for 13 years with these people but now they are suddenly threatening us,' he said. He was shocked that such things can happen 'in an ordinary place like a rubbish dump'.
