Anti-ANC chaos in town of Malamulele, Thohoyandou, LI: they want their own municipality

Several vehicles and offices have been burnt down, roads blockaded and some retail shops looted.
Residents are demanding to be separated from the Thulamela municipality and to have their own municipality.
Seven vehicles, including a gallion and a truck, were burnt at a government satellite office at Malamulele. The offices have also been burnt down. Houses belonging to staff have also been burnt and windows broken.
Some retail shops have also been looted. Thousands of protesters have blocked all the roads leading to Malamulele, including the Punda Maria road that leads to the Kruger National Park.
No motorists are allowed to drive through the area. Police are being out-numbered by the protesters. [Source]

The latest hooligan behaviour by residents is said to have been sparked by a lack of service delivery in the area, nepotism and alleged corruption in the Thulamela Municipality.
