Afrikaner student Jan Hendrik Jooste 20, chased off 4 black knifemen with psalm 50:15 during attack on him and friend Soné Verster 19 Tuesday 3 September 213 article by Piet Matipa. 'In the name of Jesus Christ, be gone from here...shouted Jan Hendrik Jooste, 20, first-year student at the University of Pretoria, when he and a friend Soné Verster 19, were attacked by four black male attackers. The two architectural students were in a park next to Andries Street, Pretoria - ordered to be there on Friday-morning during measurements for a class-assignment when they were attacked. They had been there all day measuring and taking pictures. At around 15h30 just before they were finished, the four-member gang descended on the two young Afrikaners, waving knives and shouting 'We Will Kill You.' Jan Hendrik said because they were so aware of the security problems in that area they had arrived on the Gautrain because they were scared someone would hijack their cars. Jan Hendrik said he kicked the knifeman and he stomped him back. "I fell down, jumped up and then hit him with my note-book on the neck.' Meanwhile Soné was under attack: the other three knifemen tried to stab her in the stomach, but again her notebook came in handy, shielding herself with it and throwing one thug with her cellphone. "We realised we could not win this fight alone. They had knives, we had books,' said Jan Hendrik. That's when he remembered Pslam 50:15 and shouted: "In the name of Jesus Christ, be gone from here'. The four thugs fled. The two Pretoria University students survived with a fright and scratches. What bothered them was that a 'church group nearby in the park did nothing to help us when we were being attacked'. But a passing couple in a white bakkie saw their plight and stopped to pick up the students at the Gautrain railway station. Now his dad Jan wants to find the couple to thank them: "We are grateful that you helped my son and Soné,' he said. SAPS captain Colette Weilbach confirmed that two cases of attempted murder and armed robbery were lodged with the SAPS. http://www.beeld.com/nuus/2013-09-03-tukkie-verjaag-4-wat-aanval-met-bybelvers
