April 28 2015: The Rekord Moot daily writes from Pretoria that nothing was robbed when Pieter Potgieter, 47, an impoverished Afrikaner man who does gardening to earn cash, was attacked by a homeless man who bashed him over the head with a brick on Tuesday 28 April 2015 who bashed him over the head with a brick. He was walking out of the security gate at his employer's home when the attack took place. The local community knows who the attacker is: a homeless man 'who attacks people he knows have some money on them', said his upset sister Landa Jacobs. "The same man also attacked my brother several months earlier and kicked him so hard his ribs were cracked'
He was rushed to the Johannesburg Academic Hospital where he underwent brain surgery the folllowing day. "He fell into a coma and underwent another emergency operation Friday for
bleeding on the brain, ' his heart-broken sister told the Rekord Moot.
"The prognosis is that he may wake up from his coma within twee weeks but the doctor gave him only fifty percent of survival after the second operation.'
"Pieter just finished working, perhaps the guy thought he had money on him.' The family said they plan to inform the police about the attack soon - since his brother is unable to do so.
