Two hijackers shot dead in gunfight with motorist who saved the lives of two women
April 24 2015 Roodepoort Record reports: " Two hijackers were shot dead in a shoot-out on Ontdekkers Road at the intersection with Crane Street last night at about 6pm.
Two young women were travelling from Johannesburg to their homes in Randfontein when they stopped at the intersection. Four armed men
approached them demanding their vehicle and valuables. Another motorist right behind them saw what was happening.
A shootout between the suspects and the motorist ensued. Another four suspects managed to flee in the vehicle.
The motorist shot dead two of the suspects. During the gunfight the two women sped off.
While on the scene the Record journalist was harassed and abused not only by Honey Hills Neighbourhood Watch but also by two high ranking police officials
from Roodepoort police branch.
