Two more Afrikaners found not guilty of trumped-up criminal charges: Free State University students Cobus Muller and Charl Blom
March 16 2015 Two ex-students at the Free State University, Cobus Muller and Charl Blom, have launched a mutual claim for immediate damages of R1million against rector prof Jonathan Jansen and the university of the Free State as compensation after the two Afrikaner students were kicked out summarily by Jansen after an accusation was made that the two Afrikaners had tried to kill fifth-year black student Damane Gwebu by running over him with a bakkie. They were found not guilty and exonerated of all charges. Jansen ordered the two Afrikaners emoved from campus physically and under deeply humiliating public circumstances before even listening to their side of the story. In the following (high-profile) criminal trial, the two students were found not guilty of the charge and exonerated of all blame for the black student's injuries - claimed lacerations to his face. The black student had also hammered home his claims by going to civil rights bodies and claiming that the attack had been 'racist' and that he wanted 'white racism wiped at at campus. During the trial, the Afrikaner students were unable to complete their post-graduate studies nor were they able to participate in the graduation ceremony on campus. The Free State University had 'reinstated' them as soon as they learned that the two AFrikaners had been found not guilty. However by then it was too late: the ex-students claim R500,000 each for damage to their future ability to earn due to the damage to their public reputations, and for injuria of their dignity which they suffered: which also included 'wasted money' they had spent trying to find jobs - having to wait out their trial conclusion before being able to access the job market -- and the gross insult to their humanity and reputation ('dignitas and fama). Jansen and the university were given two weeks to pay out the claim to the two men, otherwise court action will be undertaken to obtain a court order for summary execution of the claim.

HIGH PROFILE LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL MEDIA ATTENTION, STUDENTS WIDELY DEFILED AND DEFAMED AS 'RACISTS' BEFORE TRIAL EVEN STARTED --
There was a high level of news media attention, both national and international, to this trial and the two white Afrikaners - and by extention their entire minority group -- were widely condemned as 'racists' before the case had even gone to trial. The South African State media and the Afrikaans news media were particularly vehement in their condemning tone in their articles about the trial and the alleged incident.

" Racism has once again reared its ugly head at the University of Free State.(SABC)
"Two white students from the University of Free State (UFS) are facing a charge of attempted murder, after they allegedly ran over a black student and assaulted him in apparent racist attack earlier this week.
The pair appeared briefly in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Thursday and they have both been expelled from the University with immediate effect.
Fifth year Bachelor of Commerce student Damani Gwebu was walking to his residence on Monday evening when a vehicle allegedly ran him over and drove away.
He then followed the vehicle to check its registration number and the accused allegedly jumped out and assaulted him.
"It was like they were beating up an animal. They just came up and beat me. I had a kind of shock, I couldn’t even think straight - what is really happening here,” says Gwebu.
Fellow students came out to support Gwebu. "We do not want this kind of behaviour on our campus whether it’s white or black students. At the end of the day what we want ... we just want justice," says South African Students Congress (Sasco) president, Ntakuseni Razwiedani.
The Student Representative Council (SRC) says it’s concerned about a greater security at the University.
THE PERPETRATORS WENT INTO THE GATE OF THE UNIVERSITY AND WERE DRIVING RECKLESSLY...
"There’s also a bigger issue of security, the fact that the perpetrators went into the gate of the university and were driving recklessly and the fact that the security did not pick this up is also of grave concern to us," says SRC president, Phiwe Mathe.
Racists Kobus Muller and Charl Blom were arrested on Wednesday and later released on a warning. The case has been postponed to the 19th of April for further investigations.
