Fed up with crime and police
Mindalore residents are yet again targeted by house robbers.
Johan Swanepoel has had enough of the crime in the area after his house was robbed for the seventh time in seven years.
Swanepoel is also fed up with lack of service from the local police.
Swanepoel and his wife had to rush home from work after the security company, Dowry, informed them their house alarm was triggered.
Shortly after the call the couple arrived home to find their flat screen TV stolen for the third time.
Along with the TV, robbers threw the couple’s study upside down just to steal an empty computer box.
After two calls to the police, the sector police finally managed to find Swanepoel’s house two hours later.
A brick was found outside the couple’s bedroom window indicating that the suspects used it to break the big window in order to gain access to the house.
Luckily the robbers, who spent a brief time in the house, did not see Swanepoel’s laptop that stood neatly next to the couch.
Swanepoel’s neighbour managed to see the getaway car which was a cream-coloured box-shape Nissan Sentra.
It is believed there were three suspects in the car as it disappeared up the street.
The vehicle was parked outside of the yard, with one suspect in the car, another waiting at the wall and the third inside the house.
Swanepoel claims that he has had bad experiences with the lack of police work as two of the house robbery cases have simply came to nothing.
The News has requested comment from Krugersdorp police’s spokesperson about Swanepoel’s frustration.
