Alleged land invasion rattles Kloof
There have been reports that a group of people are trying to occupy land in Kloof illegally. Kloof's public spaces are home to various species of endangered frogs and plants.

March 4 2015 - KLOOF councillor, Rick Crouch, has urged residents to keep an eye out and report large groups of people allegedly trying to occupy land illegally in the Kloof area.
“I have received a number of calls today about hundreds of individuals congregating at the intersection of Klooflands and Msinsi Roads in Kloof.
“Two residents asked the group questions, and were told that it was a site meeting and they were preparing to take over the 'empty' land and allocate plots,” Crouch posted on social media.
He said he called the land invasion unit and Metro Police, who both responded immediately, but added that by the time Metro Police arrived the group had left the area.
“I later received a call from Metro Police, saying the group was now on Marievale Drive and they were responding,” Crouch said.
Crouch urged residents to contact Metro Police on 031 361 0000, or the land invasion unit on 031 311 4699, 031 311 4701, 031 311 4702 or 031 311 4022, if they notice similar activity.
He also said residents must keep watch over vacant properties, especially over weekends, as the property could be occupied at any stage.
“It is also important that residents report these cases as soon as they see them, as there is a time limit to reporting illegal land invaders,” Crouch added.
