Complaint of Douglasdale police incompetence lodged by Pedro Ramos - was accused of being drunk, and assaulted him by slapping cellphone from his hands - refused to take formal complaint --------------------- email: pedromiguelramos@gmail.com Date 28 February 2015 Details: Police Douglasdale (South Africa) Refusing to work This whole situation started when 2 customers decided not to settle their alcohol bill (175 ZAR) because they didn't have enough funds. As a normal procedure, the manager calls the police so a case can be opened as this is seen as a crime (Fraud/Theft). Upon arrival of the police officers, nothing was happening, so I requested them to open a case and to start the process of writing down the statements (its a long process that does take some time). Officer Teffu replied no, i was guessing as much, because due to the small value it is to much work to do. I then request the names of the officers as they didnt identify themselves upon arrival. One office (reservist) gave his name - Officer Teffu (It was also visible on his uniform), and the other officer that was wearing a bullet proof vest refused to identify himself. As i noticed he was not going to show his badge (that is located under the vest) and that he was not going to identify himself, i took my phone to start record, however he tried to take the phone out of my hands so i failed to record this episode (I do have CCTV footage of the struggle though). The unidentified officer started calling me drunk (I do not drink alcohol when im working), I did ask him to do a breathalizer test on me, this was also refused. I requested both officers to present themselfs to their station so I could take this matter further. The station in question: SAPS Douglasdale located in Fourways - Sandton, Gauteng (South Africa). I queried to whom should I speak to in order to lodge a claim against officers misconduct. Some officers pointed me out to the Captain that was in charge of the shift. When I approached the Captain to explain the situation, she continuously refused to identify the unidentified officer, and officer Teffu stated that we did not show the unpaid bill to the officers (I have CCTV footage of me showing them both the bill that needed to be settled - Once again, lies!) At this stage I decided to start video recording the whole conversation that can be seen on the video uploaded. The charges I will be opening against these officers are: Refusing to open a case of Fraud/Theft;[/*]Not identifying themselfs and refusing to do so;[/*] Defamation of character; Are these officers above the Law? Clearly they have their own law that they abide too.. not the one taken on oath. What makes this women Captain??? Her hard work? Her ability to discipline officers that are under her command? She refuses to give any names.. and even gets "confused" of who is the senior officer of the shift I think the video speaks for itself... If everybody just decides to consume whatever they feel like in the hospitality industry and refuses to pay.. we might as well be in a jungle. I am sending out my incident enmasse as I do not understand how SAPS can have an incompetent Captain and officers that abide to some different law. The videos are quite explanatory. - Officers refused to open a crime case - 1 Officer refused to identify himself - Captain of Douglasdale refused to open a case of misconduct - Captain refused to identify the unidentified officer .
