UPDATE: Pretoria Metro cop threatens to shoot Afrikaner toddler Veronique, 3: holds up mom Magda Robberste on Klipfontein cemetery Road, demands, harasses her - the child was so traumatised that she required trauma-counselling parents say -- UPDATE: Crime Line and Justice Project South Africa have learned that the two Tshwane Metro Police officers involved in the alleged extortion and armed robbery of a female motorist, and the traumatisation of a 3-year-old child near Zandfontein Cemetery on Monday (January 26) have been arrested. The 25-year-old woman identified as Magda Robertse, was driving with her children, a 2-year-old boy, who was strapped in to his seat in the back, and her 3-year-old daughter Veronique, , who was in the passenger seat when she was stopped by the metro policeman. It is alleged that the officer tried to solicit a bribe from the woman after she failed to produce her drivers licence. When the woman refused to pay the bribe and her 3-year-old daughter began to cry, one of the metro cops allegedly drew his firearm and threatened to shoot the child. Money was then allegedly forcibly grabbed out of the vehicle’s ashtray. The matter was reported to Hercules Police Station and after an intensive investigation the two Metro cops involved were arrested this evening. The crimes that these officers are alleged to have committed are very serious indeed and should be treated as such. Crime Line and JPSA wishes to urge all motorists to refrain from resorting to paying bribes and to immediately report any solicitation of bribes at the time they are demanded. We also wish to urge the public to join us in demanding that swift and harsh action is taken against any law enforcement official who abuses their power in order to extort monies from members of the public. The severest sentences should be handed down by the courts when law enforcement officers are convicted of extortion and/or corruption. The same should apply to motorists who think that it is okay to summarily bribe traffic officials. Howard Dembovsky, National Chairperson of JPSA, said "urgent interventions" were required to clamp down on rotten metro police officers. "We are very concerned. We need decisive action by municipalities and law enforcement agencies." Crime Line head, Yusuf Abramjee, has compliment the SAPS and Tshwane Metro Police for the swift action. "We need to get the rotten metro cops behind bars. We appeal to the public to blow the whistle on these crooked cops." Abramjee recently reported two Tshwane officers who tried to solicit a bribe from him. They were subsequently nabbed. Six other officers were subsequently implicated in corruption and a robbery in two separate incidents. Crime Line and the JPSA said it would engage the Gauteng provincial government and local authorities "to find ways of clamping down on corruption. Similar anti-corruption hotline lists are planned for the rest of South Africa and will be released as they become available. http://www.jp-sa.org/media/post/2015/01/27/tshwane-metro-cops-arrested-for-extortion-and-armed-robbery Pretoria Maroela Media, Phillip Bruwer: PTA-metropolisiebeampte dreig glo om kind te skiet 27 Jan 2015 Phillip Bruwer Leroy en Magda Robberste, saam met hul dogter, Veronique (3). Foto: Facebook ? “Die beampte het daarna vir haar gevra, ‘what are we going to do about it?’ en het geskimp dat hy ‘koeldrankgeld’ sal aanvaar. The Star front page 27 January 2015 - http://pic.twitter.com/CtU6ZnZSyg Pretoria - police officers of the metropolitan police force have been photographed by motorists allegedly attacking and robbing a young mom and her 2 toddlers at gunpoint on a road near the Klipfontein cemetery in Pretoria: PAGEGRABS ATTACHED OF PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN BY MOTORISTS Citizens rise up - using the internet: On 26 January 2015 Helen Bloomer reported the attack on the wife of one of her shopkeepers' managers and her 2 toddlers in car by metro-cops on her Facebook page: as follows: 26 January at 7h18 pm: "One of my shop managers' wives just got pulled over by these metro-cops: armed robbery with two toddlers in the car. One held a gun against the little 3yearold girl's head whilst they ransacked the car and stole everything they could. Motorists behind her took these pictures. According to a source at a nearby station (near Zandfontein cemetery) these cops are known to them and the vehicle is a genuine metro-cop vehicle. I cannot confirm it yet. Took place near Zandfontein cemetery. If you get pulled over, it is not unlawful to drive to the nearest police station and be confronted there. Put your hazard lights on, dial your next of kin immediately and get to a police station. Do not stop! pic.twitter.com/L3UYwszFu8 -- Update 27 January 2015: Just an update.. the mommy was very traumatised and still is.. and is sitting with a little daughter asking if the policeman is coming to kill her still... when the little one started crying hysterically.. the corrupt removed his gun from his holster and told the little girl to keep quiet or he will kill her... the gun was not aimed against her head.. think mommy and daddy were just very shocked and battled to understand each other over the phone.. but.. I'm just glad that so much has been done.. the South African police response has been tremendous. The amount of top brass calling me is overwhelming... very sceptical about mails I'm getting from alleged policeman with gmail addresses though.. Can one of my Joburg friends please advise if any of you can pick me up a copy of the Star Afternoon publication just released. Our story is on the front page.. it will be in the other papers tomorrow as they only have publication and papers had already gone to press by the time the story was thoroughly investigated.. just one copy for vindication for the family please or a pic on fb or whatsapp if you have my number... of the front page.. 702 will be broadcasting soon I believe.. Motorists followed the cops and have been placing pictures of them on the internet: https://www.facebook.com/helen.bloomer.3?fref=ts&ref=br_tf http://pic.twitter.com/L3UYwszFu8
