Murder: Afrikaner veterinarian Dr Rensia de Wet, 46: White River, found raped and stabbed to death, no mention of robbery

Update: South Africa Frans Mokoena, the arrested rape/murder suspect in the death of Afrikaner veterinarian Dr Rensia de Wet in Dec 2014 , will have to serve out his remaining 1,293 days in prison because he had committed the crime while he was 'out on parole' for another offence. He nevertheless will still be appearing in the Nelspruit court soon to apply for bail before his trial for the murder of Dr de Wet can continue on February 17 2015. He also still has a warrant of arrest out from Witbank for unspecified crimes. --------------------------- 16 Jan 2015: White River. Mokoena appeared earlier today in the White River Magistrate’s Court for allegedly raping and killing Dr Rensia de Wet. He was out on parole when the alleged crimes were committed. Due to this fact, he will now have to serve the three years he had left on his previous sentence. Moreover - according to a reliable source, a warrant of arrest had also been issued for Mokoena by the Witbank Magistrate’s Court for an unspecified criminal offence in 2013. Warrant Officer Gugu Phiri, spokesmann of the White River SAPS has informed Lowvelder newspaper that "Mokoena will apply for bail in the White River Magistrate’s Court on Monday. "He will also appear in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court for another bail application on the same day, even though he will have to serve the prison sentence mentioned above in any event. Dr De Wet was found with 'many stab wounds' in her neck and head by neighbours in her home.
