Martie Bester, 68: Afrikaner woman dead: black attackers torch homestead Theunissen Free State. 12 January 2015 - journalist Christal Lize Muller reports "Police in the Free State say it is unknown if a 68-year-old woman who died in an alleged house robbery on a farm between Theunissen and Welkom this morning was killed by her attackers or died as a result of a fire, allegedly started by the attackers. (Either way, her murder was due to actions by the attackers). Police mouthpiece Ian Gaobepe, says Martie Bester's body was found inside the house by police members after a passerby informed police about the house being on fire. Gaobepe says Bester stayed alone on the farm Erfbloem. According to him the fire has been contained by the Matjhabeng Fire Brigade. Police have no information nor any motives as to why this happened. "The bakkie that was allegedly used by the suspects to flee the scene was found on the other side of the farm a short while ago. The bakkie was also set alight." Nothing seemed 'robbed' but police still refer to it as an 'house robbery'.
