Murder: Lynette Lavender, 60, stabbed to death, Rust de Winter smallholding, Limpopo ON September 24 2014 Maroela Media reports on 29 September 2014 (journalist: Phillip Bruwer) that the SAPS in 'BelaBela' (Warmbaths) have arrested four black males for the murder of Mrs Lynette Pamela Lavender, 60, whose body was found Thursday Thursday 24 September 2014. SAPS spokeswoman colonel Ronel Otto said her neighbour (not identified by name) found her body after he noticed an 'unknown man driving her car' and went to investigate. "He found her body in a pool of blood on her bed in her bedroom. She was stabbed repeatedly with 'a sharp object'. We don't know what this 'sharp object' could have been. Mrs Lavender lived alone at the homestead. It's not clear whether anything was even stolen from the homestead. Her car may have been used as a getaway car - the men were arrested 95 km away from Mrs Lavender's homestead. The SAPS confiscated the car when the Rust de Winter SAPS arrested the four suspects on Friday in Mabonpane township north of Pretoria. --- One of the 4 black suspects apparently worked 'for a very brief period as her gardener'. (According to her facebook page, she had broken a leg earlier). The four black male suspects will appear in court soon on charges of murder and car-theft. The murdered woman's sister-in-law Trudy told Maroela Media that they were grateful that the suspects were captured so quickly. And now we can only hope that justice will prevail, she said. http://maroelamedia.co.za/blog/nuus/suid-afrika/vier-vas-vir-rust-de-winter-moord/ LONG TRAVEL DISTANCE BY SUSPECTS IS A MAIN PUZZLE: -- One of the main and most puzzling aspects of the farm-murders and the murders on white smallholders in South Africa is the fact that so many of the arrested black male suspects often travel long distances just to go and kill their victims - passing many other sites which may have been more 'profitable' to attack. Often too, very little of value is 'robbed' or 'stolen' from these white murder victims - which is one of the main aspects through which 'farm murders' are being identified. --- The question which the police or the courts never ask of farm-murderers is 'what was in it for you? - why did you murder a woman living so far away, go through all that trouble, yet steal little of any value? What did you gain by this - and did anybody else pay you to go and murder this specific person".... For instance, it appears as if nothing was stolen from the homestead of Mrs Lavender, according to police, yet the four black males arrested for the murder were captured in a black township north of Pretoria - 95 kilometers away from Mrs Lavender's Limpopo home. The police also found the woman's car in their possession and have therefore charged the men for murder and for car-theft. The question remaining is: why didn't they steal anything else from her home after they killed her? She was found hacked to death in her bed. She lived alone. Yet the police said it didn't appear as if anything of value was missing from the murder-victim's home. ==================== Murder: Thursday Sept 24 2014: Mrs Linette Lavender murdered on smallholding, Rust de Winter, Limpopo.
