Afrikaner assaulted by Johannesburg metro-cop accompanying Cyril Ramaphosa's convoy for no logical reason: Bernard Venter, a passenger in a vehicle stopped at a red light and which was passed by depy-pres Cyril Ramaphosa's 'blue-light convoy', was assaulted after the car was stopped by four Johannesburg metro-cops on bikes. When Venter made a questioning hand-gesture to ask what was going on, the cop pulled open the passenger's door, yelled 'Who the fk do you think you are?" and punched Venter with a closed fist. Venter's lip was split. When the Afrikaner passenger got out of the car, the four metro-cops continued to pull, push and swear at him. When Venter requsted the name of one of the officers, the man replied: "My name is your mother's pussy'. Two bike registration numbers are CFO 505 GP and CFO MZ GP. The two men were told to 'meet the officers' at Grand Central Airport however they were not there. Upon questioning airport security staff they were told the convoy was transporting Ramaphosa. The victim has laid charges against these officers.

"Poor response from Presidency to Ramaphosa blue light incident"
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng notes the poor response by the Presidency regarding a recent incident involving Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa's security detail in the province.
This is after the DA exposed the assault of a road user by Johannesburg Metro Police members forming part of the blue light convoy for the deputy president.
The Presidency is either aware of this incident and doesn't care or would simply prefer to pass all responsibility to the metro police.
While those officers involved in this assault must be brought to book, the Presidency should apologise directly to the affected road user and assure the public of their co-operation in the investigation.
I will be following up on the criminal case with Provincial Commissioner Lesetja Mothiba to ensure this case is properly investigated.
The DA has long advocated for the ban of all blue light brigades in Gauteng, as we have already done where we govern in the Western Cape.
The Presidency's poor response does little to help numerous residents of this province who have become victims of senseless and dangerous blue light convoys.
