Sadistic rapist sentenced: "Pretoria University student's rapist must get a long jail sentence"
August 28 2014 - beeld reports: Netwerk24 reported that state prosecutor Sanet Jascobs asked the regional court in Pretoria North: "what kind of barbarian gets sexual satisfaction from
stabbing a dying person 22 times with a knife?" She posed the question during her argument to sentence the 'Tukkie-rapist' to the heaviest possible prison sentence.
On trial was Samuel Msiza, who crawled through the bars of a student's townhouse, robbed her, attacked her with a knife and raped her.
Msiza pleaded guilty to housebreaking, rape, attempted murder and escaping from custody.
Jacobs submitted that Msiza had never bothered to get a job because he wasn't interested. Drugs gave him the stamina to commit crimes.
On the evening in question he broke into the student's townhouse 'because he's too lazy to work and earns a living from stealing other people's property they had worked for'.
"The student closed her place of safety after a bible-study - she was a young, beautiful virgin girl, she felt safe.'
"Then something happened which wrecked her life. The accused man broke into her safe place.
The pre-sentencing report stated that 'he was stimulated by her pain and suffering. He saw her destroyed, mutilated body, the open wound gaping open across her face.
And he decided to rape her.' She said Msiza tied a plastic bag around his penis and raped her.
Then he waved the bag in front of his victim and said "See you gave me sex'. And this was done while she was struggling between consciousness and unconsciousness, while bleeding out.
Jacobs said that 'the barbarity of the attack does not belong to a human specimen. 'Doctors had to drill out the knifepoint which was embedded in her forehead, that's how aggressively he had plunged the knife into her skull'.
Besides the psychological damage, the surviving victim's family already had to pay some R400,000 for plastic surgery to restore the injuries to her body so that she could move in society again.
"I wish I could have asked for the death sentence today, it would have been appropriate,' she concluded.
