Confessed murder: East Cape Cradock police launch murder-docket into disappearance of Theresa Buys, 43, Cradock teacher: August 7 2014 - 7 August 2014 - Phillip Bruwer @Afriforum online publication Maroela Media reports: The East Cape SAPS investigates a murder-case after the disappearance of Theresa Buys, 43, an artist and teacher of Cradock, after her mysterious disappearance on Monday after she left the Voorbereidings-school in Cradock. The art-teacher lives alone at a rental farm: her husband and daughter live in Port Elizabeth. "Head master Elmar Heese said the teacher was last seen after leaving school for home where she was working on projects. She was busy making decors for the school concert and was very excited about the project, he said. The school caretaker still took material for the decor to her home earlier that afternoon, he said. When Mrs Buys did not show up for work on Tuesday they tried raising her by cellphone -but it switched to message-mail. "Mrs Buys is a very warmhearted person with a passion for children and animals, she is a sponsor of the Animal Welfare Assocation and has adopted many animals there, ' Mr Heese was quoted as saying, What raised the alarm further was the fact that Mrs Buys' dog showed up at around 9h30 pm at her neighbour Paddy Greenwood's farm-house. She lives about 1km away. Mrs Greenwood was alarmed about the fact that her dog showed up at her farm house and took the animal back to Mrs Buys' rental home. "She noticed the house was darkened, her car was not there, and she presumed Mrs Buys must have gone to visit someone'. Tuesday-afternoon Mrs Greenwood went with the farm-owner to Mrs Buys' home because they noticed that her animals had not been feed. The owner unlocked the home. "The house was neat but the police were called when a large blood-puddle was found on the floor'. Cradock SAPS discovered Mrs Buys' deserted vehicle near the Michausdal township. The police arrested a man shortly thereafter for questioning. It is believed that the man was a worker on the farm where Mrs Buys rents a house. SAPS captain Stefanie Smith confirmed the case to Maroela Media on Thursday. The man has been arrested for questioning but has not been charged. The police opened a murder-dossier after the man allegedly admitted killing Mrs Buys and because forensic evidence at Mrs Buys' car linked him to the case. The man claimed that he had thrown Mrs Buys' body into the Vis River after killing her. Her colleagues and family were informed of this on Wednesday-evening by the police, she said. The SAPS K9 unit has been searching at the lowwater bridge of the nearby Vis River since Wednesday-afternoon without finding the body. The police officer said there are widespread rumours that three men may be involved in her apparently motiveless murder. She said these rumours are 'untrue'. They do not know whether anything is missing from her home. Mr Heese has issued a call to people to help pray for the Buys family and for the police who are investigating the case. Anyone who may have more information which could lead to solve the case may contact the SAPS at 048 881 7118
