Survives: Yvonne Ferreira, 73, lay for three days, tied up by two black attackers: Morningside Sandton, South Africa home. Discovered by part-time gardener in dehydrated and in shock - Reported by Eyewitness News journalistsValeska Abreu, picture by Bongiwe Gumede. 2 Aug 2014 Yvonne Ferreira, 73, is dehydrated and covered in painful bruises on her arms after she was tied up with cable-ties for two days and stockings, laying helplessly on the cold tile floor of her Morningside, Johannesburg home. She was found Wednesday afternoon by parttime gardener Thabfeng Ndou, who works in her garden in Tuesdays but fetches her garbage cans on Fridays. Ndou said he discovered her plight when he arrived for his task and jumped across the fence after she didn't answer her doorbell, telephone or cellphone. She couldn't alert her children in Australia and the USA because they'd stolen her cellphone. She said three (*confirmed: black) males arrived at her home and two broke in on Wednesday-afternoon while she was in the study. "I didn't hear them at all, but then I spotted one man in the hallway. He said: "Today we are going to kill you.' 'He pushed me down, demanded my jewellery and money, and once again threatened to kill me. He was dead-serious: he may have been drugged'. "I kept asking them what I had done wrong. One pushed a dirty rag into my mouth - so roughly that my lips cracked and bled. Then this guy tried to smother me with a pillow. I don't know why they left me alone after that failed'. She said the thugs had turned off the sound of the TV 'so I just lay there and watched the TCM-channel in silence.' "It elt like eternity. I am not a religious person but I prayed that night away.' When her gardener knocked on her bedroom window she screamed: "We phoned the police', fearing it was them again. She was still dressed in her teddybear nightgown and a robe. And the first thing she did when her bonds were cut, was to drink a five-liter bottle of lemon juice in one go. She told the EWN journalists: "I haven't eaten yet but what I want to do now is bathe. I feel so filthy'. Warrant officer Moses Maphakela provided the news from the Sandton police station that no, they hadn't caught the 'robbers' yet. http://ewn.co.za/2014/08/01/Bound-Morningside-woman-treated-for-shock-dehydration http://ewn.co.za/2014/08/02/Morningside-case-investigation-continues
