Alberton, South Africa: Siske van Niekerk writes: Five of The Spur Six - accused of the beating-murder of Bradley de Preez 20 at the Spur, Lemon Tree on Sunday evening, were known to Bradley and his family. A family member of Bradley made contact with the RECORD stating that the five, known to the family,
have not only been told by Bradley’s father that they are not welcome in their home, but that they also have prior convictions.
A daily newspaper reports that the incident was sparked by an argument between Bradley and the six while they where all in the smokers’ section. There were no Spur staff in that section at that moment so nobody knows what has been said.
The paper further reports that they had access to footage, where it can be seen how one of the accused threw a bone from his plate at Bradley and that sparked a squabble. Bradley was then asked to leave the restaurant, and at that stage he threw a bottle at the group. Then follows the scenes in which the six tackled Bradley and beat him and the Spur manager and his waiters trying to break up the fight.
When the Spur employees managed to free Bradley from the group of six, they dragged him to the restaurant’s front counter.
Bradley was still alive at this stage. The doors were then locked by the manager on duty at the Spur for the evening, to stop the six from leaving and the SAPS were notified of the incident.
Paramedics declared Bradley dead on the scene and the police arrested the six (blacks), who reportedly 'just carried on having a good time after their attack on Bradley.
The wife of the Spur’s owner posted on the RECORD’s Facebook page that claims from Mrs Lopez (the mother of one of the accused), that there is a video which will be viewed on Thursday and the truth be revealed on Friday cannot be true, because she knows for a fact that only the Spur and SAPS have a copy of the footage.
In the report, the Spur manager praised his staff, who tried to defuse the situation, but that there was nothing more they could do.
One of the waiters also made a statement that the six were aggressive and also refused to settle their bill.

The Alberton SAPS has arrested four men and two women on Sunday evening as suspects in the beating-death local resident Bradley du Preez.
The police spokesman sergeant Phora Nkuna said the lone youth 'was taunted by the six suspects (they threw him with bones from their plates) and they beat him to death."

Maroela Media http://maroelamedia.co.za/writes that after their gruesome deed the group of blacks '' returned to their tables, and kept on eating and drinking and talking as if nothing had happened.'
The CCTV-videos from the security cameras show that a bottle was thrown by Du Preez, 20 when he got fed up with being taunted. He did not hit anyone. The group bullies then jumped on him and started kicking and beating him. Employees of the restaurant tried to stop the mob-killing and tried to drag him away.
Arrested and identified were Julian Lopez, Ruddy Pholo, Lyll Mkandala, Cisely Molete, Gbadamosi Gbenga, and Ryan Pillay during their
first appearance at the Palm Ridge magistrate's court in Alberton.
They were arrested when management at the restaurant locked the doors to stop them from escaping and called the police.
Bruwer writes that 'the group (of blacks) were very aggressive and also refused to pay their bill.
Paramedics declared Du Preez dead on the scene and the police arrested the 'alleged' killers.
His family is shocked and horrified by his gruesome death. They said he was a gentle person.
