Dunnottar grandmom Karen Brown stabbed to death in frantic attack, killed with 13 knife-wounds in her neck on 29 March 2014. In a local newspaper journalist Nadia Campbell interviewed the family on May 21 2014 - and describes their heartbreak. Her grandchildren Madison Brooklyn Last, 2 and Jason Last 3 miss their gran every day, the journalist writes. Mrs Brown leaves behind her daughter, son-in-law and the two grandchildren. Her daughter Chantall Last said her mother lived in her home for 23 years without any breakins or any trouble with anyone. The daughter is badly traumatised by the cruel way in which her mother was murdered - and is convinced that it was an act of revenge by 'someone known to her'. It is very difficult for the family to come to grips with the loss of their beloved matriarch also because the Dunnottar SAPS very slow to arrest any suspect. The Dunnottrar SAPS sai that fingerprints and forensic material was found at the crime scene. The SAPS Dunnottar has asked the public to contact their investigating officer w.o Simon Phala at 082 727 9877 or 011 737 9618 if anyone can provide more information which would lead to the arrest of the assassin.
