26April 2014 -- The wife of a Bloemfontein Afrikaner man has posted an account of the racist abuse and attack against her husband by a black police officer
"without any reason', she said. The family is terrified and wants to remain anonymous but we know their identity.
The incident occurred on 26 April 2014 and was attacked without any reason by a black policeman in Uniform in Dr Belcher Road Bloemfontein.
My husband was busy working and stopped at a robot when another black man that was obviously drunk threw him with a bottle in his face through his window.
This man drove off but had to stop at the next robot....my husband climbed out started to walk to him...wanting to ask him why he just threw a bottle at him. As he was walking someone struck him from behind and he fell on the tarr road. He got up turned aroud and there was this policeman. He asked him: " What are you doing? My husband said: I'm walking!"
The policeman starts pulling and pushing against my husband telling him that this country does not belong to the
White Boers anymore....there is no place for us anymore and all of us will be killed!
After that he sprayed his can of pepperspray empty into my husband's face. My husband told him that he will open a case a assault against him. He took his phone to take a photo of the policemans car registration nr. As he bent down this man hit him with a knopkierie from the back over his head.
A paramedic was watching the whole sceen from a corner of the road and coloured men that saw what happened came to help....
they told the policemen to go and could take my husband to hospital.
In casualities Netcare the Dr said that the blow was so hard....his flesh was open up to the scull. One more blow would have killed him.
The policeman was arrested on charges of attempted murder.
