Widow of murdered Klapmuts policeman Steven Britz furious & heart-broken: Thursday 17 April 2014 -- Paarl, Western Cape - "I am furious, heartbroken and totally angry: my husband Steven was shot to death while on duty at Klapmuts police station'. This was the first reaction from the widow Lee Anne 'Lisle' Britz on Wednesday's facebook page after the murder of her 44-year-old husband. Warrant-officer Britz. She later posted his portrait on her facebook page where condolance-messages are streaming in. He was the only policeman on duty at the 'community service centre' when he was gunned down at 22h35. SAPS lt-col André Traut said the well-organized black male gang which stormed into the police station and shot dead the policeman, stole five police weapons from the safe.Amongst these are R5 high-powered military attack carbines and police pistols. The West Cape police commissioner lt-genl Arno Lamoer said 'everything in our ability will be done to capture the suspects as soon as possible'. Britz worked for the SAPS for the past 22 years. He is survived by his widow Lee Anne and two teenaged sons. The SAPS has issued a call to any member of the public who may have information about this armed raid on the Klapmuts police station to contact detective George Ainslie at tel 082 522 1260 or 082 463 8706.
