Cape Town - Nearly six months after her decomposed body was dug up from a shallow grave along Baden Powell Drive in Strandfontein, police have officially confirmed that it is that of slain Rosemary Theron.
Provincial SAPS spokesman Captain Frederick van Wyk said on Saturday that the post-mortem had been completed and the body had been identified as that of 39-year-old Theron.
Her daughter, Phoenix Racing Cloud Theron, 19, and her daughter’s boyfriend, Kyle Maspero, 18, are behind bars, accused of her murder.
Van Wyk said on Saturday that the family had collected Theron’s body and she had been buried.
The Clovelly performance artist was reported missing on March 7 last year, but her body was recovered only in September, after a confession by third accused Godfrey Scheepers, 20, who allegedly helped the young couple move the body.
Maspero’s bail application resumes on Monday in the Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court, and his trial begins on April 11.
