Afrikaner SAPS captain Renate Barnard continues six-year-battle for equal employment rights in Constitutional Court: "The Freedom Front Plus party supports Afrikaner SAPS captain Renate Barnard's six-year-battle for equal employment rights: "Solidarity trade union 's appeal on behalf of Renate Barnard continues in Constitutional Court today Statement by Adv. Anton Alberts MP spokesman for labour: 20 March 2014 "The FF Plus supports Solidarity in its case today in the Constitutional Court, where the police intend to have the ruling by the Appeal Court, regarding Renate Barnard, overturned, says adv. Anton Alberts, the FF Plus parliamentary spokesperson for Labour. According to Adv. Alberts, Solidarity announced that they will soon be representing 32 more people that are, or were, employed by government or parastatal institutions. “It is regrettable that the police are not accepting the ruling of the Appeal Court in Bloemfontein. In November five judges ruled that Barnard had been discriminated against because she had been overlooked for promotion three times. Barnard has been fighting this case for eight years. “This case will have a ground-breaking effect in all future racial discrimination cases and could, to a large extent, neutralise affirmative action as it is currently being applied. “This could have a far reaching effect for white and brown South Africans, who, because of their skin colour, are not considered for promotion. The FF Plus supports Solidarity and Barnard in this case and believe that justice will prevail,” says Adv. Alberts. https://regsfonds.solidariteit.co.za/files/2014/03/Die-implikasies-van-die-uitspraak-van-die-konstitusionele-hof-in-die-Renate-Barnard-saak.pdf
